Phantasy Star Online Weapons
Each character starts with a basic weapon and as they level up they become able to equip better weapons. A Hunter starts with a (basic white) saber but as they level up they increase their ATP so they become able to equip better weapons. This is similar for Rangers and Forces although their ableness to equip is based on ATA and MST respectively. As they progress each class will become able to equip most of their weapon type and also some basic of other types. For example a HUmar is good with blades so as they level will be able to equip most bladed types of weapon like slicers and daggers but they will also become able to equip a basic handgun. Eventually they will up their ATP and become able to equip a bladed RARE such as a DB SABER. All weapons have a basic attack which is fast but normal powered and a hard attack which is strong but slower. A basic weapon with zero percents will be written in white lettering. A lot of weapons have a third attack called a special. This third attack has an attribute such as fire or ice but it less accurate than the other two attacks. A weapon with a special will be in green lettering. A superior basic weapon or lesser rare will be in lowercase gold lettering. Common to Rare RARES wil be in capital gold letters. Special-Rank Weapons will be signified with Red lettering. The number at the end of a weapons name adds to its power so therefore a handgun +8 is more powerful than a handgun +2. Most weapons can be 'grinded' to achieve better power. If you use an item such as a monogrinder it will up your handgun +8 to a handgun +9. Some attributes are more effective than others for instance a flame rifle is better than a heat rifle. To be really good at PSO you have to master the art of combos. With most weapons you can do a 3 hit combo (hit a monster 3 times in a row). It is all about timing though. Select the offline quest Battle Training from the Hunters Guild and Kireek will bore you to death about it. Think 1, 2 ,3. Don't button bash. It's like NORMAL HIT, NORMAL HIT, HARD HIT - mix it up too! You will learn different combos work for better for each monster. Good luck!
