My Life Outside the Classroom

My life outside the classroom is pretty hectic. Besides my classes, I work for the Marquette Women's Basketball Team. My duties include stat taking, pregame setup and breakdown, prepractice setup and breakdown, handling equipment on road trips, and laundry. My job has allowed me to travel throughout the country; I've been to San Diego, Houston, Fort Worth, New Orleans, Hattiesburg, St. Louis, Iowa City, Des Moines, Green Bay, Cincinnati, Louisville, South Bend, Charlotte, Greenville, Durham, and a ton of towns in between.

This summer I will manage the Earlville Municipal Swimming Pool; this will be my sixth year there, but my first as manager. There is no greater job than working at the pool. I like to tell people that if you make $5 an hour at the pool its really like making $10 because your really only working half the time you’re there.

My hobbies include slacking off, playing basketball, swimming, annoying my roommate, playing my guitar, watching the White Sox, hanging out with friends, going to Walmart, and watching my brother's sporting events.

I've lived the majority of my life in Earlville, Iowa, a town of about 900 people about 45 minuets away from anyplace you may have herd of. Despite its location in the boondocks, there was plenty of things to do. Pickup baseball and basketball games, fishing, rock climbing, biking, soccer, playing "guns," and swimming were the primary means of entertainment for my friends in the summer.
