Doom 3 Mod

Doom 3 For CS2D
9.24.04
Been up to a lot of work on 1.3, and I've come up with little. Just a few gun fixes, mainly for the pistol. I'm remodeling all the handguns to assume the look of classic handguns, such as the pistol in Doom 3, so it won't be anything special. A little tweaking on the chaingun was neccessary, mainly because the barrels were too short and it just looked funny. Overall, the weapon skins are fine, and have been tweaked to be as cool looking as possible without attaining the source (which I will have soon). The sounds are 100% fine. The only change made was the heart-beat sound when shot. In 1.2, whe you are shot the hear-beat sound makes one beat, and that's not cool, so I elongated it about 10 beats or so to simulate a panic for the user. Reloading sounds tweaked slightly, models are as good as ever (and I'm thinking of coming out with an optional mod add-on that makes CTs blue, green, yellow, or red doom guys, and the terrorists look like doom monsters), and not much more to go on the basic looks of the mod. Basically, until the source, v1.3 is it, but once I get a programmer, single-player and co-op net play will be underway.

9.17.04
I've released V1.2 patch. It's a minor patch containing mostly tweaks, but a new feature is the sounds. It uses real pain sounds when being shot, and replaces the death sounds. Next I'll work on some more gun graphics, and after perfection on V1.4 (which should be the final version) I intend on doing nothing short of getting the configuration files for CS2D to edit weapons. Then I'll release a server-side full mod and include some custom doom-linked maps, and if I'm very lucky (and you guys too), you'll get a single-player version. And if even luckier, a net-playable co-op single-player version. High hopes, and it all depends on the popularity and appreciation of this mod. Make me proud!

9.12.04 - 2nd Entry
I'm currently running V1.2 on my system now. I fixed the shotgun graphics, perfected the AK, edited more submachine gun graphics, and I'm currently trying to get the mod a little bit more popularity in order to contact the creators at Unreal Software and get the source for the game so I can change weapon configurations. Also, they may come out with a Day of Defeat 2D, in which case I'll Doom-ify that one too. Once I finish the final version of Doom 3 2D for CS, I'll make new mods for CS and possible DoD. Perhaps I'll make a world war II mod for CS2D if I get the source. Please, make D32D popular!

9.12.04
I've released a patch for the pre-release Beta that upgrades it to version 1.1 which fixes some graphics (including the AK) and a few sounds, and adds a few new features. Choosing the first two classes for terrorists results in the red doom guy, as the second two are green. The radar looks what I think to be much cooler now as well. I'll work more on it later.

9.11.04
I have finished construction for a beta pre-release. So far, the beta pre-release includes the following changes of CS2D:

-One new crosshair design.
-Changes weapon skin of USP, Desert Eagle, most submachine guns, shotguns, M4, AK47, grenades, and C4.
-New sounds for the USP, HE grenade, shotguns, assault rifles, and a few submachineguns including a (mostly) silenced P90.
-Terrorists have a green "doom guy" skin, while counter-terrorists have a blue "doom guy" skin.
-Slight edits of the shell.

However, I have recently been working on the skins for the terrorists, and so far I have terrorists being either the green doom guy or red doom guy, and also, the skins for the submachineguns were improved, and some that weren't changed now have a new design. I intend on working on the sounds a bit too for some of the unchanged machine guns. I will probably leave the UMP with the sound it has now, and may use the MP5 sound for some other guns.

Special thanks to frostbite (creator of DoD2d) for his advice and comments and such, he's pushing the D32d experience for you guys, so take the time to thank him at the forums on CS2d.com.

I love feeback, so give me some.

I added a link to the DoD 2d mod for CS2d (done by frostbite, a clan member). If you'd like to join our clan, have a mod/website hosted, or co-create a mod from our team, please e-mail me. I'm not getting enough feedback at all.
