How it all works!

The diagram below will give a fair idea as to the operation of our Volumetric Mixer. The truck carries sand, rock, water and dry cement, the basic components of concrete. The materials are mixed togeather by the mixer and delivered as wet concrete.

The consistancy of the concrete can be changed by making a few simple adjustments on the mixer. Our mixer can deliver any slump a customer wants.

The mixing process uses a large metal auger to mix the components togeather in the delivery chute. This auger moves the material forward and backwards in the chute as the operator deems necessary. Then the concrete is placed where the contractor wants it. A diagram of the auger assembly is below.

Here is a picture of our mixer delivering the finished product.

When you call Boise Shortload Concrete and the job is done, you will have the best possible concrete that money can buy! Our concrete does not sit in the truck, mixed togeather, slowly decreasing in strength as the truck travels however far from the batch plant to the delivery point. When we mix the material on site and put it into place. The cement, water, sand and rock are chemically activated and at it's strongest point. Giving you, the customer, the strongest, freshest concrete avaliable.
