Ratings appear each Thursday and are compiled by The Courant staff based on results, strength of schedule and current form (records through Tuesday):

1. Bloomfield(4-2): Bloomfield Struggled early, but we know they can win. Should repeat as state champions due to great coaching and preparation.

2. Trinity Catholic-Stamford (5-1): First three FCIAC victories by an average of 29.3 points.

3. Sacred Heart-Waterbury (5-0): Hearts have road games against Kennedy and Holy Cross next week.

4. Northwest Catholic-West Hartford (5-1): Indians are still team to beat in Northwest Conference.

5. Harding-Bridgeport (5-1): Presidents still have five games to go before showdown with Trinity Catholic.

6. Bristol Central (6-0): Rams own victories over defending state champions Northwest Catholic and Bloomfield.

7. Bridgeport Central (6-0): Hilltoppers scored 105 points against McMahon-Norwalk and 93 against Darien in FCIAC wins.

8. Crosby-Waterbury (5-0): After earlier presenting coach Jack Taglia with victory No. 300, Bulldogs edge Holy Cross 63-62 in last game.

9. Stamford (6-0): There is more than one FCIAC contender in the city.

10. Wilbur Cross Indians continue to win with balanced scoring.
