I have two printers hooked up to my main computer, a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 712c and an Epson Apex 80. I use the HP Deskjet for reports, cards and other graphical projects. When I just have to print off notes about a topic to study or look off of I use the Epson Apex. Now, there are 2 ways of setting this up. Either have 2 LPT ports in your computer to hook up each printer individually or buy an inexspensive piece of equipment called a "Data Switchbox." I set my printers up on the switchbox method which is very easy to configure and use. Basically, I installed the software that came with my exspensive HP printer and then configured the Epson by choosing the "Generic/Text Only" printer option from the Printer Icon in Windows. The switchbox I bought at a local pawnshop for $3. The following are some pictures of what the switchbox looks like. Drawn by me in Windows Paint.

So as you can see the "Input" port is where you connect a Parellel cable from that port to the Parellel port on your computer. The hook port "A" to the first printer (easier if its on the left) and port "B" to the other printer (easier if thats on the right). Then when you want to print to Printer on the left, select "A" with your switchbox and vice versa. You could also do the opposite with your switchbox. You could hook a printer up to 2 different computer, so you could alternate as you use either computer.
