Green light swirl beneath my eyes
As yellow embers meet blue skies
The sparks of progress and reinvention
Meet the familiar eye of the past

Tearing up my eyes are drowning
Choking on a future lost
Inebriation steals youthful spirits
Will it end and at what cost

Gaining speed the gyre tightens
Sordid winds you underwhelm
Once again you inhale vigilance
Only to fall prey to whim

Red now swirls around your face
Your life's at a slow doldrum pace
One day a tear will choke your will
To martyr yourself on an unecessary fate
