This page is dedicated to the relatives who have served in the military of the United States at one time in their lives. We owe each one a personal pledge to honor each of them as we do the many thousands that fought for each of our rights, here, there, everywhere and those that still do so today.

MILITARY PERSONS IN THE DATA BASE OF FAMILY:

Jack Leroy BRYSON b. 26 Apr 1932. Served 5 Jul 1950 till 7 Jul 1953, Korea 1952-1953 with the 13th Eng. Combat Batallion of the 7th Infantry.

William Riley Dail Sr. b. 5 Jan 1795 Served in the War of 1812.

Joel HACKER b. abt 1814 served in the Civil War. Causualty Military Pvt., B Company 5th Tenn. Inf. Unit (Union)

Joseph H. HACKER b. 15 Aug 1843 served in the Civil War.

Henry Landrum HALBURNT Senior served in the Spanish American War. (Henry and John are brothers)

John Thomas HALBURNT served in the Spanish American War. Company D 7th Infantry.

Rupert James HALBURNT served in the Civil War.

James Lawrence HATCHER Civil War 1863-1865, Military service Fact 22nd Rifles, Co. D, S.C.

Jacob HENSLEY Jr. served in the Civil War, 18 Apr 1862, Company D, 6th Tennessee Volunteer (Union) at the age of 22. Discharged on 27 Apr 1865.

John Herrell (III) served as a Capt. In the Revelutionary War. Was with General Washington crossing the Delaware.

John Thomas HORN (Mannassah HORN’s brother) Served twice in the Civil War. He was wounded and dischared in 1862, left service, married, and returned to service only to be killed near the end of the war.

Mannassah Lee HORN died during the Civil War and is buried in Richmond, Va! Died in the Cival War. He had enlisted for the Mexican War during 1846, but saw no action in the Mexican War.

Philemon HURT, On February 27, 1776, at the age of eighteen, Philemon enlisted in the Continental Army for a term of two years. He served as a Corporal with the Fifth Virginia Regiment of the Continental forces commanded by Lieutenant Josiah Parker. Philemon joined Captain Harry Terrell's Company, designated at various times as Captain Samuel Colston's and Captain William Fowler's Company. He was paid $7 per month. On his company muster roll dated September 1, 1777, the remark on his card read "sick Wilmington." On October 11, the remark was "sick absent." He remained sick through January of 1778 and was discharged on March 5, 1778. His last pay "included 20 days allowed for traveling home."

Matthew S. LOCKHART b. 1833 in Kentucky, Died during the Civil War on the battlefield of Chickamauga , GA 19 Sep 1863.

Daniel S. LAVENDER b. 2 Feb 1767 served in the War of 1812.

George B. Mc CLELLAND, died in South Carolina during the Civil War.

Vearl Gerald "Sonny" Morgan b.5 Jan 1934 d.3 Nov 1994, Served in the Army in Korea 1953-1953.

Joseph MORRIS Sr. b. 15 Jun 1722 served in the French and Indian War. Enlisted 7 Dec 1754, aritficaer under Capt. William Peachy 1757. At enlistment Joseph stated that he was 32 years old, 5 ft. 8" and a carpenter.

Enoch OVERTON b. 11 Jul 1831 was wounded during the Civil War, on the Union side.

James OVERTON b. 10 May 1841. On March 15, 1862, James enlisted as a private in Co. G, 3rd Reg., Missouri State Militia Cavalry Volunteers. He was wounded in the hip. While he served in the Civil War on the Union side.

Joseph OVERTON b. 4 Apr 1832 was killed during the Civil War, on the Union side.

Samuel ROUPE b. 1820 d. 8 Aug 1864 in Virginia as a soldier in the Civil War. Roll of Honor Vol I-VI Arlington National Cemetery Died in the Civil War 1860 Census: Center Twp, Greene Co, Pa #762 Wdr

Peter A. RUFFNER b. 9 Jun 1839 Served in the Union Army in K Company 1st Reg., TN Inf. wounded at Knoxville, Tn.

Joseph H. SNOW b. 24 Jan 1843 Served on the Unior Side of the Civil War, E. Company, later was transferred to Company B in Oct of 1864. Mustered out in Aug 1865.

Thomas M. SNOW b. 21 Apr 1840 Served on the Union side of the Civil War, 1st Tennessee Volunteer Infantry Regiment in July 1863, with his brother,Joseph. Thomas with Company B, Joseph with Company E., Joseph later transferred to Company B in Oct of 1864. They were both mustered out at the end of the war in Aug 1865.

George WALLS b. 12 Aug 1922 died while serving as a Pvt in the Army in Korea 1955.

Robert A. WALLS Senior b. 27 Jun 1837 served Civil War 1861-1865 , K Company Ist Reg. TN Inf, Infantry, Prisoner of war at Libey, TN (Richmond, VA???).

James Milton York b. 19 Apr 1829 served in the Mexican War as a Pvt. in the 4th Regiment, Co. G. Enlisted 14 Jun 1847 at Jeffersonville, Indiana, mustered out 16 Jul 1848 Madison, Indiana.

John Nelson YORK b. 1799 served as first Lieutenant Company H, 1st Tennessee Infantry., enlisting on 10 Aug 1861 at Clinton, Tn, taken prisoner in Ky and paroled in 1862. He resigned his commission on 15 Apr 1862 at Cumberland Ford, Ky. "because of old age and bad health", He was honorable discharged 15 May 1862 by Major General Buell, John was 63 at the time.

John Nelson YORK b. abt 1827 Enlisted on 12 Aug 1862 at Osage, IL.,with his brother Matthew D. York, the 10th child. Both were PVT's in I Company - 94th Illinois Infantry. Regimental History shows Illinois 94th - Organized 20 Aug 1862, Muster 17 Jul 1865 in Galveston, TX. 94th Illinois - Battle at Springfield, MO. - 8 Jan 1863. Also participated in battles at Vicksburg (24 Jun 1863) and Spanish Fort, Alabama 1 Apr 1865).

Paris York, b. abt 1845, ran away to enlist at Wenoa, IL, 21 Jun 1864. Muster out 14 Oct 1864. After the war he relocated to Dawson Co., Nebraska.
