Beer Review: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

Sharp & hoppy is how this beer started. As the crisp, medium body sank in, I could truly taste why this beer had been recommended to me by several people (including Dopplebock). This brew had a medium-to-light color and went down well. A little higher in alcohol than your average beer (5.6%), I quickly decided to make this my 'house beer' (a choice motivated by the great taste and by the fact that a local grocery store had it on special (and a very good special, at that!))). A bitterness -- from the hops, I believe -- was present on each swallow, but it was not an unpleasant taste at all. Actually, when I later tried this on draft, I found the taste to be 'cleaner', if that helps at all. The hops were still there, it was just a clearer, cleaner Sierra Nevada Pale Ale taste, that's all.... This went very well with the Glory Days sauce on the wings I was enjoying! A definite must try (the beer -- although the wings were good, too)!
