Beer Review: Oktoberfest Beer (Spaten-Franziskaner-Brau)
Excellent malty but clean beer...from Munich's first brewery ('nough said?). This is the one to measure all Oktoberfest beers by...as I'm sure this brewery served the first Oktoberfest when that prince got married early in the 1800s. Really is delicious....has the amazing capacity to taste clean, but also heartily malty--not an easy combination. -- The King

Fellow SBR reviewer, The King, was found by the Spaten tent and I headed in for a sample of this legendary Oktoberfest. Medium in both color and body, this beer, my second of the Fest, was described by a fellow fest-goer as 'full mouthfeel, dries in finish.' Personally, I found the hops balanced out the sweetness. This beer had a mild hoppiness/spiciness to it. Overall, a very nice beer, as you'd expect the original to be! -- Brewmeister G
