Beer Review: Bonnema Mudhole Porter
As this was just about the only brew left at Stinky's that I hadn't tried before (elsewhere), I finished my evening with this dark beauty. Named for the English translation of Atascadero, where the stuff is brewed, this porter had the dark color of a mudhole -- without that unpleasant dirt aftertaste! Medium in body, this brew had a very nice, up-front roasted flavor to it -- a taste expectation I got from the roasted notes on the beer's aroma. This brew was nice and smooth once I got past the roasted flavor. A very nice, in-your-face porter! I gotta give major kudos to Carolina Guy for driving, as it let me more fully enjoy what Stinky's had to offer. Oh, yeah -- San Fran Girl was there too with her Red Bull. -- Brewmeister G
