Beer Review: Modelo Especial

A light body and nice flavor were the first characteristics of this Mexican brew that I noticed. No bite, to speak of, was present -- although a round, robust flavor was! This was not a very complex beer, by any means, but it did have a sit-up-and-take-notice taste to it. It didn't quite pair with the chili con queso I had ordered (which was good, nonetheless). The beer's flavor was almost too strong, if that's even possible for a lighter brew. Still, it was good and refreshing. I later added the lime wedge that had been brought to me with the beer, and I found that, while the lime did compliment the beer's flavor somewhat, it did not overpower or cancel out the taste -- the two tastes sort of combined. This pilsner had a light to very light color to it (as is to be expected). A nice beer, this brew worked better with the chips and salsa (minus the queso)(and plus the lime).
