Beer Review: Kingfisher Lager

Kingfisher premium lager beer, dubbed the "king of good times", can cool the raging spice of a Madras pepper dish as good as any lucious mango lassi. This light lager that is imported by the American United Brewers International Inc, smells like a Heineken, but doesn’t leave Heinie’s renowned aftertaste. Instead, it tastes remarkably similar to an Amstel Light, or perhaps lighter Bavarian-style lagers. At first, I thought that beer itself might not compliment the mulligatawny soup or the typical vindaloo, however, the persistent rage of curry and black peppercorn was quickly extinguished by this cool and refreshing bottled lager (I have never seen this lager sold on draught). I could not imagine drinking a stout with a masala dosa. I asked a waiter at this excellent Indian restaurant, which would be a better Indian lager to try (the Kingfisher or the Taj Mahal), and he informed me that the Taj Mahal isn’t sold in India at all--there may be another Indian name for that beer in India. When trying the culinary spices of India, I would sincerely recommend trying the Kingfisher. -- Dopplebock
