Beer Review: Gettysbrew Dark Horse

Having spent some time in a bar of this name while at school, memories of the smooth jazz I had enjoyed in the little hole-in-the-wall place came to mind as I gazed at this beer now before me. Dark in color, with a medium-to-light body, this beer was, as advertised, smooth. Malty, with hints of fruit / sweetness in the midst of it, this was a nice, darker, lighter-bodied brew. Webster's defines 'dark horse' as 'a usually little known contestant that makes an unexpectedly good showing'. This is an apt name for this, the last of the three lagers I tried at Gettysbrew. Not to be counted out, Gettysbrew Dark Horse made a good showing on my palate! -- Brewmeister G
