Beer Review: Carta Blanca
While I had a dickens of a time finding the web site for this beer's parent company, I had no trouble at all finding this fine Mexican lager, thanks to Tia's Tex-Mex of Fairfax, Virginia! This beer had a good 'feel' in the mouth, with just a slight 'bite' that faded quickly. It complemented my dinner choice quite nicely (I had their Chicken Fajita Salad, with the salsa ranch dressing - thanks for the recommend, Dopplebock!). Solid, with medium-to-light body, this beer did not overpower or overshadow the food I was enjoying (with the beer, which I was also enjoying). Femsa, maker of Carta Blanca, says on their web site that their mission is "To offer the best moments with the best beers ". Was tonight's tasting a 'best moment, best beer' type of thing? I don't know if I'd go that far, but it certainly was a pretty good moment, with a pretty good brew - I'd recommend this lager (especially with Mexican food)! -- Brewmeister G
