Beer Review: Andechs Weißbier Hell
This heavenly Weiß is made by Benedictine Monks in their monastery outside of Munich, Germany. Ironically, I tried this wonderfully complex weizen on my European Protestant Reformation tour. I don't think good old Martin Luther would have turned his nose up at this one, though. After all, his nose is what would have first appreciated it, with its pungent clove and banana aroma. These scents hinted of prominent flavors that mixed well with the tang of the lemon and the smoothness of the wheat. If ever in the center of Munich, do try this heavenly hefe. -- Growler Guy
