Beer Review: Anderson Valley Boont Amber Ale
Upon returning to my hotel after dinner, I immediately set out to sample some brews by the pool. Joining several others outside, we began to try what brews I had left. First up was this ale from AVBC. Medium in both color and body, I found this to be not as smooth as some ales I've had. Not very hoppy or fruity, either. There was almost a slight smoky undertone to this brew. All-in-all, I thought this only an okay beer. Disappointing, as this beer was named the 'Nation's Best American-Style Amber Ale' at the 1998 Great American Beer Festival. Oh, well. -- Brewmeister G
