The History of Trunks' Dragonball Z RPG

An old man approaches you as you enter the vault. He wears a long, hooded coat, and holds a staff." You wish to learn of the past!?", he shrieks. You nod, and follow him into the deeper caches of books and lore within the vault. He suddenly turns, and with a flash of light, yells, "Then you shall know, young one!"

You close your eyes to hide the light, and it stops. You open your eyes, and you are no longer in the vault, you are lying in your own bed. "A dream.", you say to yourself, and drift back to sleep. You begin to dream again, only now, the story comes to you.

Freaky, huh? Anyway, sit down, son, and let good ol' Uncle Trunks tell you the story.

Prequel

"Well, I wasn't BORN runnin this fuckin site, was I?"

It was 4 or 5 years ago, I guess, when me and my younger brother, whom you know as Kaioshin, sat down to watch Dragonball Z for the first time. At this point, it was at the battle between Goku and Frieza. Me and him laughed at the awkward 20 minute stare-down silences, and the borderline retarded threats they threw at each other. Well, we thought it was dumb, but for some reason, we couldn't get enough. And after the end of Frieza, I guess you could say we were hooked. Well, not too far later on, I started to read up on it on the internet. After reading so much, and watching so much, I became somewhat of an expert on anything DBZ related. (Never could get into the card game though. I hate card games.) Well, I was browsing through the forums at World of Nintendo, when I came across a post that was an ad, pretty much. A guy was telling everyone about this Dragonball Z RPG he ran, and told us to join. Well, this was the coolest thing I'd ever heard of at the time. So, I clicked the link, and it took me to a place called 'Dragonball RM'. After reading through all the sections, I decided the Vegeta who ran it was a god. I quickly signed up as Yamcha, and trained daily. I made friends with two of the characters, Metal Koola and Vegeta Jr. I would run into MK all the time, and we'd fuse, creating 'Metal Yamcha'. The freedom to do what we wanted in there, was more than I could of thought of. Well, the site started to get slightly neglected, I noticed. Vegeta was updating less and less often. Many people began to quit. It was at this time I realized, 'Hey,I could do this.' So, having good experience at being a webmaster with my FFIII site, I created the site you are in now. I recruited some members of RM into it, but two people stood out. RM's Metal Koola and Vegeta Jr. joined as my RPG's Bardock and Chibi-Vegeta, respectively.

1st incarnation

"I'll be better than RM ever was!"

I created the site, mostly copying attacks and jobs from RM because hey, they weren't gonna use em anymore. As time went on, more people joined, and I added in more tweaks to it to make it a little more unique. I believe this was the longest running of the site. I added jobs and attacks RM didn't have, but not really any new sections. As time went on, more and more posts popped up everyday. More people joined, more idiots to contend with. There's a point when your brain just says: "Fuck this" and shuts down. I was at that point. The site...died.

2nd incarnation

"Ah, what the hell, let's do it again."

I became bored of having nothing to do. Then I remembered the site. I decided 'Eh,why not." I had deleted everything, so I set out to redo it all, my way. No more copying RM, this was my idea now. I contacted Chibi-Vegeta and Bardock, and they rejoined. I thought I created everything new and unique. Now I look back on it and say, "Wow.Exactly like RM." Well, this incarnation lasted a while too, but not as long as the first. Some old members returned, some new ones joined. Eventually, it got to the same point as the last, and I shut it down. Site died, again.

3rd incarnation

"Is there no end!?"

I hadn't deleted everything this time. I wised up, and saved it. So, I returned it all, this time with newer stuff. I had a hard time getting Bardock and Chibi-Vegeta on AIM, but eventually I caught them, and they joined again. At this point, I added in Experience points, something from RM I didn't think I'd use. This was probably the most thriving times of the site. I added in new sections, like the Bank, planets and guardianships (A VERY updated aspect of RM), training equipment, my own items (Like the Elixer of Life and the Power Potion) and several other ideas unique from RM. To say the least, I was impressed with what I had done. At this point, Kaioshin decided to join. He didn't do much, but he enjoyed it. Brolly, my friend from down the street joined, and trained like nobody's business. But, nothing lasts forever, and eventually, the site died again. I handed it down to Chibi-Vegeta, but he really didn't take care of it, and boy, it REALLY died.

4th incarnation

"Why!? Why won't it just go away!?"

I reopened the site, deleting some of the more useless things, like Teams. I got a hold of some of the old members to return. But sadly, I could never get a hold of Bardock or Chibi-Vegeta. Sad, they were my two best members. The best duel I ever did was between those two. But, I continued to run it anyway. But, like all others, the site began to decline. I handed it to Gogeta, who co-owned with someone else, but the whole thing got screwed...again. So, I shut it down myself.

5th incarnation

"The legend must live on!"

Before I opened this incarnation, the current Bardock at the time was pestering me to give the site to him. Well, after 3000 messages saying 'no' and an eventual block from MSN, I got him to shut up. After those last two times I handed it down, I will never make that mistake again. At this point, Kaioshin had moved to his dad's house in Nebraska. I contacted him, and he said if I re-opened, he'd join. I decided, 'Why the fuck not,' and re-opened. I deleted more or less all the old ideas. I brought in new ones. For example, stats and D&D style dueling. I took out planets, guardians, and jobs. No way to get money, except for dueling.(Except for the later idea of money for PL, but that doesn't last for long.) I noticed more people wanted to duel, just what I wanted. I re-did the attacks and items. I revamped the training room PL and Exp. No more Room of Time and Spirit. Many useless ideas deleted, better ones brought in. I wanted simplicity. I wanted every single thing to play it's own role in a character. If you ignore one aspect, you can't become the strongest. Just the way I wished for it. Now this is dead too. Who woulda known? :P

6th incarnation

"What do I mean I'm fired!?...I'm bored."

Believe or not, I got a job for a while, so that kept the madness out of my head. It was in an arcade. Unfortunately, I was fired for neglecting to do my job and playing DDR instead, and pilfering nickels. ^^; So, with nothing to do, and school almost out, this came back to me, right in my face. This is it coming back in my face. *thoomp*

Crazy sound effects aside, I really haven't changed anything. Don't think I will either. The site did pretty good last time, I just got too lazy. :P So maybe it'll do ok again. We can only hope.

I called Kaioshin again. I've saved his character, but there's no tellin if he'll do anything with it.

You wake up, sweating. You look around, seeing you are in your bed again. You wipe the sweat off your forehead, saying 'I wonder if all that was true? Or just a dream, thought up by myself.' You look over, and see the same old man from before, sitting in a chair, cackling loudly.
