The Power Advantage DBZ RPG News Archives: July

7/31/01 - Not much news today; certainly less than last time. Several updates were made, from new characters being added in to the finishing of the Inactives being removed. We have a few people who are still infrequently active, but they will have a 2nd chance. All the June News will be moved to the Old News folder tonight or tomorrow, too. I also updated the tourny bouts, with Paikuhan as the man who watched my rolls. From what I hear, Heavyweights are double-elimination, so 2 losses and you're out. The doubles just keep going, I guess. ALso, a new virus (That I haven't heard of, ever) is in town; My mother claims it to have been on the radio, and it affects any computer that goes onto the internet until August 20th. It will simply make your internet slower and slower the more time you spend on it. Well, no matter how much I debate the fact that what she claims is stupid; you don't have to have the virus to be affected, she says, I still do not have first say over the computer. I may not be online tomorrow, or much for the next few days (Although I doubt this will be the case). Either way, I'll keep updates coming as I can, and I hope people keep visiting the site. We are at 511 ranking today; Not as good as the 505 of yesterday, but we are staying down there. Maybe we can break 500 sometime. Also, Clan trainings are requiring all active clans (I think Mafia died) to make a treasury page. No cash goes into it, yet, unless you email me on it. There is also a small incentive to wish for Clan Extras; The first clan to have a member wish for it gets a bonus 300 credit donation to their treasury; small, but it will be VERY useful once you see all the good stuff I've cooked up for you guys. Other than that, keep active, and I hope you are enjoying the RPG (70 members, around 55 active!).

7/29/01 - HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! EVERYBODY READ THIS ASAP, AND TELL OTHERS! If you haven't heard, there is a new worm/virus in town. I can't recall the name, but it is a helluvabugger. It's ranked a 4/5, 5 being the worst. It is a worm, in that once you got it, it sends itself to all people on your buddy list. McAfee is the best counter to it, but once you have it, your computer is as good as gone. There are uncountable different subject headers, and I believe that you can't know if the virus is in the email, but it doesn't matter until you open the attachment. Once you have it, I'm not sure of the specifics of what happens, but it fills up all hardrive space, and then wipes everything off on October 12th or something like that. Either way, the email says "I need to ask you for some advice" or something like that. DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT! DELETE ASAP! ANYONE can send it to you; as they may have been affected. Poor Vash has been affected, as it got auto-sent to me by him. A 318KB EMail from Artic_Wulph. Do not open it; delete. Worse news is that ANY files the infected computer sends to another will infect that other. I am not sure, but I also think that sending IMs to the person may cause it to spread, although it may not be so. I am not taking this chance. I am sorry, Vash, but your name will be blocked from my Buddy List for the following 2 weeks, at LEAST. I will contact you then, and figure out if you've gotten your computer fixed. I repeat, DO NOT OPEN THE EMAIL ATTACHMENT!
Now, with that out of the way, the site is getting good hits, ranking 524, I just saw the first Doubles match take place, and I recall that you may not take double damage for a partner; The rules never say you can. Character inactiveness deletions will begin tomorrow, sending Max, Videl, and Ubuu out of the RPG, amongst others. Keep checking the forums, post every so often, too. Keep battling in the tournament; Crash should have the roster ready soon. If they haven't battled, Gokou wins his match, but no stat boost, as does Android 17. The formula went into play, and they were far stronger than their opponents; dice rolls or emailing in made no difference. Other than that, I think I've said all I have to say.... keep recruiting (But no more duds; No Cartman from South Park and the like. This is more or less serious, not stupid.) And rules stay in place; no part-saiyan AND part-tsufurin or anything like that. Choose a race, and stick by it.
Oh, I remembered 1 last thing. Nappa is building a DBZ RPG. Now, this is the first time we've come across this. We don't expect a rival, but we have copyrights on virtually everything here. Some concepts may be used, but it is our concept of HP, KI and PL being separate which is a major foundation of thsi RPG, along with Speed and Skill actually doing something. The dice rolls have been passed on from several RPGs, but we made our own rolls for our own PL. We also have increasing attack damage, and formulas for attack values. If ANY of this is taken, aside from what DBZ has already used, then we reserve the right to have your site shut down. I hate to put a burden on you, but we will stand by what we put hours into, 'Crash and I. We have spent HOURS and MONTHS dedicating ourselves to this RPG, and watching it grow, where others stopped growing, and failed to work. We may not be the pinnacle of the system, but we attained a height only Kaiosama's/TMM's DBZ RPG did, and they only surpassed us in numbers, not RPG gameplay. I will re-instate my point: If anything is proven to be stolen from our RPG (Including the concept of using set-system KI with attacks; That was OUR idea, and no other major RPG before us had this), we will enforce you change, or we will have your site deleted. I would much rather you simply change a few things, especially considering it's just in the making, so nothing is set in stone yet, but if push comes to shove, our host's copyright laws give us that power, and will support us. I already am preparing to have actual Copyright Sheets come out, independant of our host's, and that will solve any problems we have (Although they will probably not be here until the end of summer.) 7/28/01 - Small news, nothing much. Lots of updates done, and we now have 71 RPG members. 71! We have rankings which are going up continuously, and we're getting over 150 hits a day. We're doing great!
The tournament is going well, and the unfinished battles will mostly be decided with my formula from the last tournament (It's lower down on the front-page news), which takes stats, and a random number, into account. The next round should start soon. We also will have a Saga start after the tourny, but don't start signing up, yet. Also, Clan Extras is all but done; I just need to type up the HTML format for it, and then it'll be put on the site once someone wins it. Clan extras must be done before Locations extras. It is also VERY useful; although it will require each clan owner to make a Treasury page for their site. More to come, on that. The contests are going well; 11 Phone-ins have been accepted, and 1 banner and 1 button have been emailed in. All is going well, and they look really good. Keep it up, everyone, and don't forget to post on the forums. Android18 and Brolli are Moderators, so if you do bad stuff, they can alter/delete your posts, so keep it clean, but keep it fun and used. I will be sprucing them up soon, too. All in all, keep checking the site, and keep recruiting. I'm proud of all of you.
NEW NOTE: Just a small note, the Attack-increase books are having a slight modification. On the ones that you choose what attack to use it on, if the attack is [x]d[y], where [x] > [y], then it will increase [x], not [y]. Simply put, this is to prevent people from getting like 15d15 on Galactica Gunfire; They may get 30d2, but not 15d3 etc. All changes will be made. Sorry for any inconveniance.

7/27/01 - For those of you in the tournament, I'm giving you guys 1 more day to finish up your battles. Hopefully you'll see each other on by tomorrow. If you haven't seen your opponent, send me an email. Just add @yahoo.com to the end of my name. For the doubles tournament, Ifnor is on vacation and Bardock has an excuse for not being to get online so your battles won't have to be done till later. Heavyweights, you guys are gonna have a Round Robin type finals matchup. Good luck to everyone else on the tournament and get ready for the next one. Sorry if I haven't updated all your emails lately but I've been busy, my AOL and my Yahoo account have been messing up so I haven't got much of a chance to update as much. I'll update as soon as possible.
As a small announcement from The Onslaught Clan: We are now accepting Honorary Members. Even if you have a good alignment, The Onslaught will possibly accept you to join the clan. There is a maximum of 5 honorary members for the clan and you might not receive all the same benefits from the clan as a normal member but it is still worth it. Fill out the form on our website. 7/26/01 - Hey, everyone! I am updating to say a few small things. First off, Gokan died in the tournament and after paying the church a small sum, was accepted to King Kaio's to train. If you spar with Android 16, Vash, or Mailon, send those spars into me for the bonus double-credit-spars-for-being-dead. Secondly, a banner contest has opened, asking people to make banners for the site (Original, not stolen and slightly modified!). We need banners, so prizes will be fairly good for that. The Lucky Caller contest continues, and I will probably get 15 people before it closes, so keep calling in when possible. Also, a poll is on the forum, so please check that out. Updates to the forum will be made sparatically. Our daily rankings is now 572 out of more than 4600! That is AWESOME! In the top 13%! Great job, everyone! Keep recruiting, but make sure recruits know what they're doing; I had one person try to get in with "I have MSN, not AIM". The AIM is used to roll the dice and battle, not simply to chat. I am also now enforcing that people have decent work done in their bios, not stuff like "i try 2 bet feza, an help guku". Make proper punctuation and such, as our RPG is going to try and look mature; not filled with a bunch of 6 year olds (I certainly hope no-one here is 6!). Lastly, deletions will be made THIS WEEKEND to people who have been found to be INACTIVE. They will be erased, and I would not like them to come back. If you join something, you intend to continue; even 1 spar a week takes 5-10 minutes of your day, and keeps you running.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

7/25/01 - Remember everyone that the rules state that you must be in the same square as your opponent in order to battle them. For a while I let it slide because I was too busy but now that I'm not handling it anymore, the rules are back and will be enforced. And as a side note, remember to check the tournament page to see who your battling if your in the tournament. Finish up your tournament bouts so the tournament can end quicker and we can move on to the next event in the RPG quicker.

7/24/01 - Thank you IMMENSELY Android 18! You saved everybody a fair amount of trouble.
Anyway, 2 small things. The side bar has been updated with a Contests page, and we have a forum (Built on a previously existing forum of mine). Feel free to look at both, and continue your Tournament battles, as well as the call-in contest that has been running. We have 4 entries, now, although I'm not saying who :-p. Other than that, a simple update.

7/24/01 - Luckly, I saved ALL the races onto my computer so I've completly fixed the part-saiyan page so there's nothing to be worried about anymore. If there are still any mistakes, please tell me them and I'll fixed them immediatly.

7/23/01 - Small updates led to me noticing that the Member Part-Saiyans page had been semi-deleted. I had a backup(Thank GOD!) from the Wednesday of the week that Crash said to not send him spars, and Brolli has everything after that, so he will make the necessary changes. Shop stuff, moves, purchases, and new characters will not have been updated, but we'll try to get that ASAP. Also, a forum has been made and will be put up later, along with some other stuff.

7/22/01 - Everyone, I have to apologize for not doing my job for the past few days. The phone line in my area has been down and I couldn't get ahold of anyone so I just had to wait until it got back up. So don't worry about your HM's anymore because I've already updated all of them today.

7/21/01 - Hi, all! I'm back (As of yesterday) and finished several updates. I have big plans for the RPG to do over the remainder of the summer, including making it more than simply an RPG site, and more. Anyways, I put an Old News page link at the bottom, and every month we will add another month's news to it. Also, we have a few new recruits, so welcome them, as that brings the RPG total people to 64, although around 50 active.
Well, now down to business. I have a red-list of people who will be kicked off of the RPG very soon, including Chibi Gohan, Android 13, Max, Videl, Ubuu, and a few others, since they have been inactive. If you have not been active, and still wish to play (Even if you're not on this list), email me, or get active! If not, email your resignation, please.
Secondly, a new [small] contest is being held. Whenevr I log on, I will check the Counter for the site. If it is divisible by 5, then I am "Open for calls". In other words, I will wait for people to IM me, and the 7th different IM will have their name enetered into a draw, as well as their PL. At the end of this, when several people have been recorded, names will be drawn, and prizes/chances will vary according to how much your PL has grown since it was recorded (Hence, the first name has the best chance). I hope for several participants in this!
Other than that, I can't think of much to say, other than that I'm glad things are going smoothly, and hope they continue as such for a long time.

7/21/01 - THE TOURNAMENT HAS STARTED! The Matchups have been placed on the tournament page. All the matchups were done randomly, and there were witnesses to the random rolls. Krillin, Brolli, and Cloud were the witnesses. Fight till someone gives up! It is possible to die from the tournament but don't try to kill people! Good Luck on the battles!

7/20/01 - I know that the tournament was suppose to start today and that the entries are suppose to be closed now but everything is so busy and Android 18 needs to update so I won't close the entries till sometime tomorrow. I will take down the stats also tomorrow and match up the battles tomorrow. The Lightweights will be matched up by their stats, so will the heavyweights. For the Doubles Tournament, since there are only 4 teams right now, I will randomly roll who fights who. Remember that the tournaments are single elimination, the doubles are best 2 out of 3, and that it is all in good fun. There are no disadvantages from joining the tournament because you will always get at least something.

7/19/01 - Any more spars that come to me, will be deleted, don't send any spars or honor matches to me. And don't ask the other staff members to do anything that's not their job. So don't ask them to update your store purchases etc. Tomorrow the tournament entrance will be closed and the stats will be taken down tomorrow. The line up will be determined by Saturday. 7/19/01 - Alright everyone is updated up to now on spars and don't say it is wrong there was i little miss commuation between me and crash but it is FIXED so if u say it is wrong i have the proff so just watch it and tommorrow i will be fixing all sign move attacks and crash if ur reading this plz send me the new setup for weapon masters and swordsmen thing so i can update before the tourney, on another note i don't know when crash will be getting the tourney stats recoreded so finsh tonight i would suggect. peace out.

7/13/01 - Alright, some final news from me before I leave for a math camp for a week in Calgary (If anyone here lives in Calgary, get an email to me by tomorrow morning!). So, I'm sorry I didn't get time to update the NockOne and Kile new members; when I get back, you'll get bonuses for my lack-of-time (Stats/cash, nothing big). As for everyone else; All join forms I get while away will BE DELETED upon return; I will not have them littering my Inbox. Get your new members to wait before sending join forms!
Secondly, a few slight changes have been made; Quests Extras cannot have 2 Extras wishes in 1 quest, Destructo Disk has changed to lower the use of it (It was overused) and a new clan has been added(I like this one, too!)
Lastly, I think, the 2 new staff have been chosen, and 1 has been contacted. The new staff are to be Android 18, and Brolli. Brolli will be doing spars, while 18 will be doing Honour Matches, Character Availability, and much brainstorming for Extras stuff. I'm sorry I haven't had time to show you around, but Crash will help you get started (I'm sure). Brolli knows that he has been chosen, and I'm sure he'll do fine as an updator (Take it easy on him!), and 18 is away, I believe, but Crash will alert her for when she gets back. Keep signing up for the tourny, and keep viewing the site; We are at a constant 597-615 place on the top 100; Out of near 4500 sites! That is great! Good work, everybody!
So, keep emails to me at a minimum, NO PICTURES sent to me, NO JOIN FORMS sent to me, and have a good week! I'll be back next Saturday (Maybe Sunday, as it will be late Saturday).

7/10/01 - DON'T send any battles for a while. We are picking the new staff members so we're gonna have you guys send the battles to the new staff member. And all the battles done in the beginning of the week, will be updated by the new staff member also. Most of the battles from last week, that haven't been updated yet, probably won't because i noticed that people are trying to cheat by doing way more spars then the limit of 4. And at the last minute of the week they are sent, and the spars couldn't be taken care off in time to be checked before the spars were reset, so the spars will not be counted. Sorry if that's unfair to the people who weren't trying to cheat but if you want a better reason, contact me and we can talk. With some exceptions because of some certainess that they didn't cheat for reasons like I remembered that they hadn't done any spars yet during the week and such.

7/09/01 - Good news! Vegeta has been defeated! You can thank Paikuhan, Cloud, Android 18, Krillen, King Vegeta, Pan and Ifnor Abacus for the victory. As for their prizes, they all get Stat Boosts (Brolli, Toma and Trunks do not lose, too.) as well as the following, that was decided by votes: Paikuhan gets a Scouter, Cloud gets Saiyan Armor 1, a Space Pod goes to Android 18, 450 credits to Krillen, a Scouter to King Vegeta, 450 credits to Pan, and Saiyan Armor 2 to Ifnor, as well as Ifnor getting a unique attack like Mirai Trunks' Anger Rage Blast. Also, we have a few members leaving us: Toteppo, who died during the Saga, after his Quest, Daneuku for bad behaviour, and King Vegeta is in a "Possible" mood. He figures I've been lying to everybody, which is explained HERE. I was a character, but that character was played fairly, and is leaving so I don't work for my own gain; I work for the satisfaction of having such a wonderful RPG. And the only reason I have the priviledge of running such a wonderful RPG as this, is because of the wonderful members in it. We have nearly 50 ACTIVE members; 50! That far outdoes anything I've ever done, as well as 'Crash, and I am proud of it. Our rankings go up daily, and I am asking every one of you to pat yourself on the back for being one of those members. Other than that, most updates will be done tonight/tomorrow, so don't worry if it isn't done tonight; It has been recorded and will be done. Vegeta and Nappa have already been reserved (Like 2 months ago, lol) and they will be up soon, too. The Saga Logs will be up.... lots of assorted updates, so take a look around.
Also, a final note, the stat punishment is that Hellbringer and Jesrul have 4 spars/moves for the week, before actually having done so. That is pretty bad, isn't it! Muahahaha! I'm evil! -LanderZ


7/07/01 - Alright, the Saga finish-date has more or less been set for Monday, at 6:30 PM PST (Same time as last one) This should take from 1/2 an hour to a full hour. It will start on time. Anybody may watch, but only the people with stats in the previous news may battle, for the most part. Email or IM me ASAP if you cannot make it, and are on that list.

7/03/01 - Well, the Saga date was last night, and I was vastly pleased with some things, and thoroughly angry with others. For starters, everybody who said that they WOULD be available and didn't show will be penalized; I don't know how, yet, but they will be. These people are Jesrul, Rashim, and Hellbringer. Secondly, those who left before 2 hours, the previously expected time, will also be slightly penalized. Trunks and Brolli make up this group. Lastly, the Saibamen and Nappa are dead, and we have these peopel to thank for it: Cloud(152/-), Ifnor Abacus(13/-), Krillen(64/49), Sol(11/21), Paikuhan(131/135), King Vegeta(37/20), Toma(170/109), and Pan(61/12). Android 18 was present for a while, too, and will not be penalized at all. All of these fighters were present for 3.5 hours, and the Saga is almost done. We can mourn the death of Toteppo, who will be leaving the RPG, and jeer the loss of Daneuku or what's-his-name, due to the fact that he was mad about penalties.
"I AM NOT ASKING YOU, I AM TELLING YOU. I WILL NOT BE PENALIZED!"
"Heh, you're pushing it."
"I DO WHAT I WANT, WHEN I WANT! I WILL NOT HAVE A STAT DROP!"
Some more stuff, and then he quit. He had a really bad attitude. All this, and why? Because he didn't get clearence with his parents for the Saga. He had to leave like 5 minutes into it. Now, didn't I put in another News update that you need to ask your parents in advance, to ensure they won't kick you off? Well, the same thing happened with Hellbringer, but he won't be leaving the RPG.
Now, I log has been made, and is around 83KB, to date, but it won't be posted until the fighters mentioned here (The ones with stats) can finish off Vegeta. A date will be set soon, but it will probably be this weekend, during an afternoon, for an hour or so. Once again, I thank you guys for coming, and your fellow RPG'ers thank you for protectig the Earth.

7/01/01 - 1 day left until the saga, everybody, and I've got some short news on that topic. All spars will be updated today/tomorrow by Crash or myself, but ANYTHING received on Monday the 2nd will NOT be updated before the Saga. If you spar 4x or such, the stats will be added AFTER the saga is done. No complaining about "Needing to beef up". That is how it is working. Secondly, Vegeta's stats have been slightly boosted, so be careful, and the number of Saibamen arriving with Vegeta and Nappa will be varying upon how many people actually show up. If you claimed to be available, and do not show up you WILL BE PENALIZED!! You have had weeks to prepare for time on the computer. You will also be penalized for having too leave before 3 hours (If it goes that long), as it is predicted to be 1-3 hours in duration. If you haven't emailed by now to join the Saga (Sol being the last applicant), you are not permitted to participate in the chatroom or battles, nor will you receive stats. If you signed up, but didn't say Available, and don't show, you still don't get any stats.
Secondly, the owners have a red-list/blue-list of the active/inactive people, and it isn't looking as bad as we had thought. A few humans and part-saiyans are inactive, and will be deleted soon. If you joined, but never played, you are on the red-list. Joined, played a little, and quit, is yellow-list, and green-list is for those with excuses, or strong inactive players. Get active ASAP!
Lastly, all spars and such you do tomorrow will be counted, but not until after the saga (I don't want 20 people asking me this!). Your saga stats will be everything done up to tonight, before the stats reset. Also take into account that you will have to move to the saga location, so you may not have 4 spars for the week, anyways.
I hope we all have a great turnout (6:30 PM PST, 7:30 PM Mountain, 8:30 PM Central, 9:30 PM EST, 10:00 PM Newfie), and 1 last note, for consolation. If you live in Australia (Such as Gokan) or England, and cannot make it, email me ASAP. You will be considered "present" for certain group things that may or may not be done. Don't TELL me, email me. Other than that, have a nice day, and a fun saga!
