The Power Advantage DBZ RPG News Archives: February 2002

Updates/News

02/26/02 - Once again, not too much for news, aside from a few select points. Several character deletions; We now have 60 members, with up to 10 being inactive. Pretty good, by my standards. Several characters have opened up, such as Gokou and Vegeta, but I assume they'll go fast. Also, a new Demon attack took place, this time with Tsi-Bhod and Carychlotha attacking Frieza and Nova Quinn. They were saved however, by the return of Wolfwood and, more importantly, Evangelion, who, lightly put, beat the stuffing out of the Demons without breaking a sweat. He has received a new technique, as you can see on his stats, which will be the present Super Saiya-jin technique for Holy Demons. His Holy Light technique randomly hits any non-Good characters present, whether they be fighting with or against Evangelion, so you may wish to reconsider who you fight with, Eva. Not much news other than that, save that I got a Beta Version of a FAQ from Frieza, and will label it a Version 0.95 until I can fully check it from top to bottom. Lastly, Ryouga, you need to email me which attack you want Pity Bonus (+5 Bonus) on, since your Team Twister partner was deleted for being inactive. Keep training, and checking the site and forum, until then!

02/24/02 - Not too much news tonight. Hits are WAY up, with around 115 and higher individual hits per day, and over 400 counter hits on select days. We've had another Demon attack, this time with Jacawl and Atropos in the Otherworld. I'm also officially closing the Lucky Hand Contest; It was down about a week ago on the Contest page, but I suppose I shouldn't expect the vast majority of people to notice things if I don't specifically say them here. I don't want any complaints about "I never got picked" for that contest; It was random, and if you didn't, you didn't. Tough luck. I've also had some suspicious money-lendings and inter-character purchases recently; If any of these characters turn out inactive in the next MONTH, the remainder of people in these transactions will be punished for possible cheating. You don't normally buy items such as Potara Earrings for 1000 credits, so these could very well be cases of cheating. I am also fed up with people coming to me, over AIM or email, with complaints of "Brolli hasn't updated me!" and "I moved and then sparred but didn't tell anyone there'd be any order-problems with it". If you come to me with these, you merit a BLOCK on my AIM, as well as a probable warning or six. If I hear that you come to Brolli with UNJUST complaints, such as you sparring on Tuesday, and complaining on Friday, the same penalty applies. Brolli updates generally on Sundays, and some people spar on Sundays, as well, so the majority of the updates could also be done on Monday. From what I've heard, he also does spars, and then moves, so leave OBVIOUS notes in your emails if you have questions on these! Keep training, and checking the site, as well as the forum.

02/22/02 - Alright everyone just a few new things to talk about. First, don't tell me when to update I had to block someone cause they tryed it, I might unblock him later. Just don't try and tell us how to do our jobs. Second I have been giving some quest and their doing good so far. First to complete was Galaixa and just finished Squall who have both been succeful. As i get more stats i will do more quest. Peace out.
-Brolli

02/21/02 - I apologize for not updating sooner, but I have been busy, and have spent my time getting more Demons into the Saga page. A band of four members, Android 16, Chibi Goten, Mirai Trunks, and Squall Leonhart, set forth to seek another Demon. Possibly the strongest members, the Demon should have been easy meat, right? Actually, Tsu-Bhod showed them up quite badly by preventing them from attacking, and using paralyzation techniques. If even Radditz (From his Saga) had been present, they may not have escaped with their lives. Then, tonight, a couple of other people were challenged by yet another Demon, Atropos, who is also up, after having done a similiar thing to Dracos as Jacawl had to Kagato in the first Rimoah Saga. Maybe something will come of that, maybe not. Hits have been up, and I think Affiliating with Planet Mado helped with that. I've also been trying to do some minor updates where needed, with missing attacks and the like, and currently have only Komar in my Inbox for new members to update. Not much news, otherwise; I want the Saiyans who have no Bios, due to the page being deleted last June, to write some up, and pass them on to 17 to update, and I am happy to note that the majority of the 'inactives' from the previous list will not be deleted, due to sparring, but some will be.
Also, we have lost a member of the RPG, Android-Trikolo, who, I am now convinced, cheated in this RPG. His most prominent aggresion; Sending in a fake Battale Royale to earn cash for his character. Saiyans Turles and Bardock were the Butts of this cruel joke, and Turles voiced so when his cash was suddenly gone, but that alone was not enough to convict him. Checking previous spars/Hms/Moves/Purchases and assorted other written records, Brolli and I were able to find that the writing styles in the Battale Royale did not match that of anything else they had done, and between that and the fact that no KI had been counted in the match, the Battale Royale was removed from stats. Weeks later, I hear from Bardock, who has been away for some time. He never saw the stat changes, but I showed him the log, and he assured me it never happened. Both Turles and Bardock have spoken to Trikolo, only to be told that they are simply whining because they lost. Trikolo, having a background, that I know, of making sometimes... rash decisions in RPGs, also stated to me that it happened. Bardock never saw the stat changes, and was not complaining about such, but simply stating that the match never happened. I find little evidence supporting Trikolo's claim; In fact, only his testament was sticking up for him. Thus, he was removed from the RPG, with 3 days notice (Had he not blocked everyone on his AOL account) that never got, due to this block. This just goes to show you the lengths at which the staff is willing, and capable, to go to catch people cheating in this RPG. Cheaters, you are NOT welcome here! Lastly, I am displeased at the lack of rule-reading, recently. I've had some kid join, and then email that he wants a different 'id' than his given AIM, and asks how/when to start. He never got the messenger, and had no clue how to get it. I may need to further enforce the Join forms because of people like this kid, and although I'm not going to say who it is, I feel it's only fair to let newcomers trying to join know this. Keep training for this Saga, and keep checking the site and forum!

02/16/02 - Our hits are a bit down; in the 90's, mostly, but character activity has gone up dramatically. I am posting a list here of all the people who I think may be inactive on this RPG, and who were not put up in the last week or so. If you are on this list, and your Power Level does not rise, due to whatever reason (Or if you don't email me, I suppose, to, with a GOOD reason to why you're not playing), by next Sunday (One week tomorrow, or the 24th, I believe) then you will be removed from the RPG:
Aliens: Burter; Gutei; Minosha
Androids: Trikolo; Zonecop Selphie
Demons: Vivi Ornitier
Humans: Choazu; Chrono; Hercule Satan; Ninja; Wiley Steer
Nameks: Hongo; Mailon; Nail; Picollo; Torebian
Part Saiyans: Darien; Dawg Dice; Syaoran
Saiyans: Bardock; Evenflow; Gokou; Hitogoroshi; King Vegeta; Melron; Vegeta
Tsu-Furins: Vash

Please do not be insulted if you're on this list but are active; this is, to the best of my knowledge, who could be away, not is. There are still a few others that have spoken to me, such as Pan, but some spoke to me, claiming they'd be online soon, and never did show. If you're playing the RPG, please pay. If you're not, please send an email regarding your departure to me. If you need to go away due to grounding or vacation, let us know!!
Well, with that out of the way, the Demon Saga continues, with more Demon sightings made every day. It's unknown when the next will attack, but be careful! Who knows what powers they may have?
I'd also like to say a few notes about the FAQ's I'm looking for. It has to be in .txt (Notepad) and user-friendly, with new lines being used instead of scrolling 3 pages to the right, etc. You may also work in groups of 1-4, but I need to know your partners ASAP or before you begin. In these groups, ALL members will earn the 800 credits for a complete Version 1.0 FAQ, including Legal Dragonball information, and the legalities of the site. Leave all questions for me to answer, but give the space and proper answer-prepare as well (The space, etc.) Once again, I have a layout for a FAQ that I was working on for another RPG some time back, but it's Pokemon, and done on Wordpad, so don't follow my example in that.
Lastly, a new note about Sagas. In the big Saga battles (Not random encounters such as the Saibamen in the Vegeta Saga, or the mini-Demons in this one, but including pre-planned battles, such as the 4 big Namek Saga matches) we will have a type of 'Effectiveness-Chart', to make things a little bit more interesting, and plausible. This will work similar to the way it works on many RPGs, I think the first being Dragon Warrior I, or perhaps Final Fantasy I, but it was best shown using Pokemon and the type charts. Here is what the type chart is: TYPE CHART. This will work off of "Extra Effective" and "Less Effective" bonuses and deductions. If a race is "Extra Effective" (ExtraEff) against another race, multiply the end damage of attacks by 1.25(5/4), while "Less Effective" (LessEff) races will multiply their end damage by 0.8(4/5). To tell what races your techniques are better against, find your race on the left, and then find the Defending/Opponent's race on the top. If there's a Turquoise circle, your attacks are ExtraEff, while a red cross represents a LessEff type match. This is still in testing stages, and may be kicked out after the Demon Saga, but we'll use it until then. Every race has equal amounts of things they are ExtraEff and LessEff against, as well as the numbers that are ExtraEff and LessEff against them. If you have further questions, post them on the forum, and I'll see what I can answer, or fix. Otherwise, keep training for this Saga, and keep cecking the site and forum!
-LanderZ

02/13/02 - Well, our hits are fluctuating, but staying around 85-105, so that's fine by me. Not much news in the Saga; I never said Sign-ups were starting, so all you fools who sent in emails to join it just wasted both your time, and mine when deleting them. The Saga will be randomly decided by squares and locations for a little while, then, come the big battles, sign-ups will happen. To lure out the other Demons, spread out, and get a group of people to spread to the same uncommon square, and be online at once. I'm also still looking for the FAQ's; 800 credits for a good Version 1.0 FAQ for the PA DBZ RPG. I am also asking for people to send stuff in correctly, with both purchases, loans, and everything! I get loans and have no clue who I'm dealing with, because they didn't put their name, race, or anything!! I've also had people try to loan items they didn't have, or that weren't presently on their items. Can't loan what you don't have. A reminder, look on the Store/Trainings pages to see who you email to purchase what. If I get anymore Store purchases, I am going to stop just deleting them, and begin punishing the fools who keep sending them!
Secondly; Stop pestering me about when new Trainings and new Saga stuff is coming out. They will come in due time. Also, Battale Royales are still postponed; Someone started a rumour saying they were back. I also would like to introduce the Independents, a clan that works off of a theme of 1-man per specialty. In other words, they get 1 Alien Warrior, 1 Alien Swordsman, 1 Alien Weapon Master, 1 Android Warrior, etc. 1 member per race/per class. I also have 5 new members in my inbox to update during the next week, so I hope they don't get restless and try sending in emails demanding to know about their forms; The earliest one is Feb. 11, so until the 18th, I should be getting no form complaints from them. The Anniversary is also fast-approaching; March 31! Keep training with that date in mind; I may even throw something special together in time, if I get the time. Well, other than that, keep training, checking the forums, and preparing for this Saga! Carychlotha's looking tough!
-LanderZ

02/13/02 - Hi all. Starting from this week on all emails sent wrong are not going to be looked at, they will be directly sent to the deleted emails place and not even replied to. Second, Saturday I'll make sure all attacks are right and sigs are correct.
-Brolli

02/11/02 - Not much news, aside from that a second Demon has attacked! Check out the log and stats on the Saga page!
-LanderZ

02/11/02 - I would like to remind everyone of the new rule made by LZ. Both participants must now be at or above 150,000 PL for Honor Matches and Battle Royals. It was for this Tien, that your HM with Syaoran didn't count (sorry for mentioning that here, but I couldn't reply to your emails for some reason). Well that's about it, prepare for the saga!
-Android 17

02/10/02 - It has finally happened. Although not yet determined of the exact cause, there have been Demon sitings all over Planet Earth. In 2A, the first encounter took place, with And-Zut Halors, Dem-Vivi Ornitier, Hum-Wolfwood, and Sai-Turles encountering a Demon long thought defeated; Jacawl. It was a quick, and vicious slaughter, leaving Wolfwood dead. What is happening with this? Well, it's a new Saga, and sign-ups will begin, soon. For the first little while, all battles and encounters will more-or-less be random, if a certain number of online people gather at one place, they may be attacked. As for Wolfwood, he didn't make King Kaio's, and may we have pity on his soul. A log is at HERE and the Saga page will be up soon.
-LanderZ

02/09/02 - Well, hits are going up and down on a random basis, but we're not doing too badly. The only real news is that the Death Match is concluded, and the log on the forum (Closed post; Cannot be repied) and you'll need to read that to find out who won. On the flip side, new Saga and Trainings are coming up, soon. Keep the quests coming in, too (Remember that you need to wait 1 month after PERFORMING a quest to quest again, as even if you fail, the guy who beats you uses the wish to revive those you killed.) and keep training for the upcoming events!
-LanderZ

2/9/02 - Crashin Here, I need everyone who wants to do their Dragonball Earth Quests, to resend in their forms. Not because I lost them, but because the stats are too old and should be renewed. Also people might not want to have the same wishes as before so those changes will have to be made through the new forms. This time send it to both LanderZ and Me that way he'll be able to make the quests if need be. For all newcomers, READ THE HANDBOOK! READ THE WEBSITE! We've put a whole lot of time into the handbook and all the information we have into this website. We have it here for a reason. It will help explain nearly everything you will need to know about this rpg so don't just think you can do everything on your own. Just take the time to read the website and just about every single one of your questions will be answered by the site. TAKE THE TIME!
-MCrashinNow

02/06/02 - Well, our hits are slightly down; in the 70's and 90's, so not terrible, I suppose. I am still disallowing Battale Royales until I can find out the real story of a mix-up that has occured, but I've also raised the bar on all Honour Matches and Battale Royales. You may not do either of these until you have 150,000 PL. This is at least a partial barrier to prevent new members from joining, honour-matching away their cash to friends, and going inactive. Not much else on that, except that Krillen will be Death Matching Squall Leonhart, sometime, for some-odd-honour-or-another, reason, hopefully putting some end to these clan feuds with the Saga approaching. More to come on that, soon.
-LanderZ

02/04/02 - Hi all. I just have a few things that need to get fixed. First is when you send emails for moves or spars check the handbook on them they will tell you how to put the subject and body. If I get emails wrong next week I will not send in a reply back saying it is wrong so be careful. Second is I will try and be on more and update more for those who think I'm not on enough.
-Brolli

02/04/02 - Not too much in the way of news. a "War" has been 'waged' on Power Advantage, because some people had their join forms rejected. The catch? They were rejected over a month before Christmas. Check the forums for more information on that. One thing, though, is that you shouldn't start sending hate messages or hate mail or anything. That's downright rude, and uncalled for, especially when these people are more-or-less just blowing off steam in expressing themselves. Secondly, I'm checking the hits, and we're up to 125 and 128 individuals a day!!! My Lord!? We have less than half that many active members!! Well, pleasant things happen to those who wait, right? Thirdly, due to some problems with select people not being able to follow what's here on the site, all Battale Royales are being postponed for a short time. These people know who they are, and may face removal from the RPG unless I hear the full story SOON. Fourthly, the Saga is coming together, and should be launched soon. Won't be a one-day Saga, either, so don't worry if you're away on select weekends just yet. Fifthly, I am looking for a Power Advantage FAQ sheet, done in .txt (Notepad) following standard FAQ format. If you want a copy of one I was working on for a Pokemon RPG some time back, ask, and I will pay 800 credits for someone who can get a FULL version 1.0 of the FULL FAQ, with blank questions for me to answer in it. I will need to double check it, and expect several drafts before the good one is done. Other than that, not much to say; I think I'll post again soon, with more information on the Saga, and some new stuff. Keep training, and stay active until then!
-LanderZ

02/02/02 - (I love this date!) Couple of things to say. First off, the use of profanity needs to stop on the Forums. If you are caught using profane language, you will earn yourself a temporary board-ban, which prevents you from defending your claims, entirely. Learn to cope with different language skills, guys. Second of all, Baka to you, Crash! You could have mentioned the Battale Royale problems when I was talking to you about it! Anyways, I had spoken with Ifnor yesterday, and heard you had a problem with it, so I came up with a new idea for Battale Royales: 1 time per week (There has only been a pair of legitimate Battale Royales done thus far, and neither had conflicting characters) and the winner gets the stakes, 2,000 PL, 2 HP, 5 KI(1 Skill) and the runner-up gets 2,000 PL and 2 HP. This'll keep some things, down, at least. I also wish to address the still-inactive members, to get back to activity, or you will be kicked out of the RPG. I will also be imposing some Taxes, again, so start saving up to pay back your debts, and give back all lended objects. On top of that, in the past 2 weeks, both 16 and Reno have quested, both failing, bur both coming close, considering the lack of Senzus/Battery charges. Keep training for the upcoming saga (Stop asking me for more information on it than is posted here!) and keep active as best you can!
-LanderZ

2/1/02 - Problem here. I just learned that the Battle Royal has a limit of 5 and has spar bonuses. That should not be because that will send the RPG into a huge mistake, ruining EVERYTHING that we've set up to allow people to catch up to the strongest. Since people have already been doing more than 1 Battle Royal a week, I'm changing the bonus to honor match bonuses. This may be temporary till me and Lander talk about this. Many of the stronger people will be pissed off about this, but think about it. Why the hell would there be a new way of battling that will allow the strongest people, who have a limit of 1 spar a week, be able to get up to 2 spars worth in one battle. Being able to do that battle royal 5 times a week. That's up to 10 spars worth in one week, then their 1 spar which makes it 11 spars worth a week, when we set it up so that they are gaining 1 spar worth a week.
