How To Burn MP3+G Files To CD Using A Non Compatible Burner and Alcohol 120%

This method requires: WinZip, Alcohol 120% and MP3+G Toolz version 2.09 [Works best for me and doesn't require microsoft .Net Framework!] Version 2.09 can be obtained for free if you visit Karaoke Colors Chatroom on WinMX
Some members also have in their shares, copies of Alcohol 120%.

Or Click here to download a 30 day trial version of Alcohol 120%.

You also need to have a CDR-W Burner that supports RAW+96 and some MP3+G files. Again many members on WinMx have MP3+G files in zip files in their shares.

Start: by installing the Alcohol 120 software then REBOOT the machine. Alcohol doesn't warn that full functionality of the Virtual CD needs a reboot.
When installing MP3Toolz, if it asks about installing/enabling shell integration or similar, choose YES. This allows the Right-Click explorer options.
Now place the MP3+G files that you want to burn into an empty folder. Make sure each .mp3 has a matching .cdg file [the lyrics].

Now, go up directory level and highlight your working (the one you just made) folder.

Right-Click the folder and choose MP3+G to BIN.

If, for some reason you don't have the right-click options for MP3Toolz, start the program manually

This next step is not really important but it can streamline things a bit.
Open Tools > Options

Place a tick mark next to Create Cue file. This will make a cue file for this folder everytime you convert to BIN placing it in the folder above (more on that soon).

If this step is left out, don't worry, the program has a separate option to create the CUE file at anytime.

Now select File > MP3+G to Bin or just whack the F4 key from the main screen.

Choose the working folder...

Hit OK and off you go!

When the program has done its voodoo it will close, knowing you have better things to do.
Check the working folder. You should now have some .bin files in there!

Go back to the parent folder and find that .cue file. MP3Toolz puts that file not in the working folder, but 1 folder up and names it <folder name> Mp3GTools.cue

Right-click the .cue file and mount it into the virtual CD.

"What virtual cd?!", you say?
It was installed with Alcohol. Didn't you notice?

If Auto Play (AIN) kicked in, we can go and turn it off so it won't bother you anymore. I will now show you as we gotta go there, anyway.

Go ahead and start Alcohol 120%.
Verify that the .cue file is loaded into the virtual drive in the DEVICE window and that your writer shows up there.

To disable Auto Play feature, click the General options icon.

...and clear the tick box.

Now we can select Copy Wizard

Set CD/DVD Device to AXV CD/DVD-ROM as shown.
Read Speed should be OK at Max unless you have a slow flaky hard drive.
On the lower left of this screen, tick Copy current disk on the fly. This will make the program do a direct copy instead of making an image first. Since we are already working from an image another one is not needed.
For Datatype, open the scroll box and select Karaoke.
Hit NEXT.

For CD/DVD Recorder choose your CD writer.
Go to the lower left and again select Karaoke CD+G
Now you can go back up and select the speed you want to write at. If you had set this to anything other than MAX before setting the Datatype, it would have reset to MAX, anyway. If, after all this, your lyrics act up - This is the first setting to play with. In this setting window, lower the speed to 8X.

Click next.
Now refer to next image
Use Enable Buffer Underrun thingy if you have a newer drive that supports it. It applies to most current methods like Burn-Proof, JustLink, etc.
Write Method will be set to Raw Dao/Sao automatically when you selected Karaoke so you don't need to fiddle with it.

Be sure Rectify Sub-Channel Data and Don't Close Last Session are UN-checked.

Hit Start

Thats it, when its done you should have a completed karaoke cd ready to label and play!
