Impractical magick

The adverts proclaim:

"Lover not proposed yet? Cast this spell and they will!"

"Guaranteed Wealth! Just send your £70 for our unique charm!"

Call me strange, but if you're that certain you want to get married, wouldn't you just ask your other half?

Or if you're short of money, do you really think that shelling out more on a trinket is going to solve everything?

There's a saying that runs, "there's a time and a place for everything". In the realm of magick, that seems to also ring true. Magick, spellwork, anything along those lines is not a "get out of doing it" option. As the name suggests, there's work involved. The energy and effort you put in is what you'll get out of it.

You can cast a spell to find a new job.
But nothing will happen if you don't look for the opportunities and scan the newspaper ads.

You can cast a spell to attract love.
But if you never leave the house or speak to other people, you'll only end up rather disappointed.

So, say you want to ask your partner to get married, but you either don't have the confidence or can't find the right time or words. In such a case, cast to give yourself inner strength and to find the right words and the right opportunity. You should also seek within and check it's really what you want to do and you're not just in 'doing the expected thing' mode. Sometimes the nerves are there for a reason. Sometimes they're just nerves.

For a job, perhaps you could perform a blessing spell over some application forms you've filled out - handy at this time to work in something about it being the right job for you, or any other things that will help you get the best out of it.

Another practical money tip is creating a 'change jar' - just pop your loose change in and you'll be surprised how quickly it piles up. (kids are handy for counting it out, but be prepared for the occasional not-very-accurate calculation!)
You can add a little oomph to this by putting a bay leaf (associated with money/wealth) or a piece of green/gold ribbon (likewise), or similar token that appeals to yourself, in the jar with the change. Instant sympathetic magick, no ££s worth of trinkets need apply.

The best way to look at spells/magick is the same as everything else - with a good dose of common sense.

You can spend decades trying to get a pencil to lift itself and write without support... or you can pick up the pencil and write straight away.

It's up to you.
