Welcome to the bloodbath

New: 01/12/06 - To add to the growing Subspecies DVD collection, Full Moon is getting ready to release the "William Shatner's Full Moon Fright Night" version of Vampire Jorunals. It'll have all of William Shatner's skits that were played before and after commercials on the Sci-Fi channel, plus some random interviews. Charles Band makes it sound like there may be a Mystery Theater 3000 style commentary track, but the official advertisement does not mention it, so maybe I'm mis-reading Band's words. Slightly Old News:

12/22/05 - The latest from Charles Band (http://www.charlesband.com/blog/archives/00000055.html) is that you will be able to order the Subspecies Box Set starting on January 6th at noon. It's sounding less like an official Austrailian release and more of a way to get around the legal barriers of a US release. Also, Charles mentions nothing of them being PAL, so maybe they will be NTSC afterall. Either way, it's something to look forward to.

12/16/05 - Interesting news from Charles Band's latest blog entry:

Finally one bit of REAL JUICY news...we are arranging to import a small number of the SUBSPECIES BOX SET being released next month in Australia. It will have the whole collection on DVD (Subspecies #1-4) and Vampire Journals! (http://www.charlesband.com/blog/archives/00000053.html).
I don't have any further details on this set, but looks like we're finally getting Subspecies 3 on DVD (even if it is PAL). Which reminds me, the first 2 movies have been released on DVD in Mexico (NTSC, Region Free) for quite some time now. I appologise for not posting this sooner. They can be bought at http://fullmoondirect.com/DVDS/imports.html.

10/27/05 - Looooong time no write. Sorry, life has been busy. I have a few things I should really update the page with (small things) but figured I'd give a quick update now. Went to see the Charles Band Full Moon Road Show last night. Enjoyable, unfortunately it didn't sound as if we should expect a new Subspecies anytime soon (will write a little review of the show this weekend). Also, just finished watching one of the latest movies Decadent Evil. Belive it or not, it's a sequel to Vampire Journals..as forced as it may be, complete with a 10 minute recap version of VJ (The movie was pretty good, have yet to make up my mind about how I feel about the hijack though, I'll try to do a review of this movie soon also)

09/30/04 - Believe it or not, Anders Hove (the actor that plays Radu, as I'm sure you know) has a CD out. He's a co-writer for the Peter Deleuran album (don't think he performs on the album, he just helped write it). I really don't know what kind of music it is or anything, but for more information visit the Anders Hover and Peter Deleuran pages.

07/22/04 - For all those German-speaking Subspecies fans, there's a new page for you here.

And word has it that there's a good chance we'll be seeing our favorite movies on DVD sometime in 2005. Still, we must keep up the fight, visit my Save Subspecies page to find out how.

03/04/04 - It's only slightly related to the site, but figured I would take a second to announce my engagement!.

Don't forget to keep supporting the Save Subspecies campaign!

02/05/04 - Tempe Video has a new DVD coming out that follows the careers of B-movie actresses, including Denice Duff. I am not sure how much of it is actually about Denice, but should be interesting either way. It's called Something to Scream About and is available by itself or double featured with episodes of Shock Cinema. Don't forget to keep supporting the Save Subspecies campaign!

09/30/03 - I have been noticing Subspecies DVDs surfacing as of late. The only official DVDs are listed here (I believe it to be an exhasutive list, if you know of any other OFFICIAL releases let me know) Don't support the bootleggers, turn your energy towards helping to Save Subspecies.

09/08/03 - Thought I'd let you know that I got some encouraging news from Ted Nicolaou. No, nothing to get excited about yet, but basically that the triple threat of vampire movies (Ted, Anders and Denice of course) are all still looking forward to making a new Subspecies and are currently exploring possibilities to making it happen. Definitely good news in my book.

In the meantime, don't forget to do your part in helping to Save Subspecies

07/30/03 - I think it's time to face the music. The latest incarnation of Full Moon seems to have died before it really got off the ground. They seem to be having trouble making the new Puppet Master, nevermind getting around to our beloved Subspecies. I have finally lost hope that we'll ever get the prequel, and at this point am just glad Ted and crew were able to tie up the loose ends of Bloodlust.

Related to Full Moon's demise, I am igniting a campaign to try to get the original movies on DVD, so even though there may not be any movies in the future, we won't lose the movies that were made in the past. Check out the "official" Save Subspecies page for details, and spread the word to all other Subspecies/Vampire/Horror fans you know.

On a brighter note, Denice Duff's newest vampire film "Vampire Resurrection" (formerly "Song of the Vampire") is finally out. Find it at your local video store or buy an autographed copy of it at Denice's webpage. It's not Subspecies, but it's a good movie in it's own right.

02/10/03 - Full Moon now has an official message board. Go and show your support for our favorite series!

01/25/03 - Full Moon is back on the web! Unfortunately there's no news on Subspecies, but they do list Denice Duff's new vampire movie as "coming soon".

09/29/02 - ABC Family Channel is showing Scariest Places on Earth: Return to Transylvania on Monday, October 21 at 10pm (eastern and pacific times). They make it sound like a brand new show, but for all I know it could be just the same episode that was shown before they took the show off the air. Either way it's fun to see our beloved castle on TV :)

09/21/02 - Online stores are starting to list Subspecies: The Awakening as coming out on DVD in November by Artisan Entertainment. This is the same movie as Subspecies 4, but I do not know if the DVD will differ at all. I will let you know when I find out more information.

Also, for those that missed the William Shatner hosted Vampire Journals on the Sci-Fi channel, there will be a marathon of all the episodes on Halloween Day. If they are played in order then Vampire Journals will be the first episode.

07/03/02 - Starting Saturday July 20th at 11pm, Sci-Fi will be airing the William Shatner hosted Full Moon movie show entitled William Shatner's Full Moon Fright Night. Sounds like first movie up will be Vampire Journals (I am not responsible if the page is inaccurate ;) Whahoo!!

upon closer inspection, while the article does say July 20th, the title says August 3rd, which agrees with Sci-Fi's schedule, so looks like we have to wait till next month (but I would keep an eye on the 20th just in case)

02/24/02 - I am moving The Blood Bath once again. By now everyone should be using http://www.radusbloodbath.com/ anyway so it shouldn't make much difference to you (if you're not, please adjust your links/bookmarks) I am sorry about the ads, but it's almost impossible to find a reliable free host that doesn't use banners (and this is a zero-profit/zero-budget page)

Also, this news is a tad late, but the Anders Hove page has moved to http://www.anders-hove.com/ complete with a redesign and updated news. Go check it out if you haven't already, and come join us at the board and weekly chats.

10/26/01 - On this evening's episode of Scariest Places on Earth they visited what we all know as The Vladislas Family Castle. It was pretty interesting seeing a tour of the place and hearing about the history of the castle. I kept listening for a mention of our favorite movies, but unfortunately that didn't seem to happen. Sorry for telling you after the fact, but I just learned about it as it was coming on myself. If you see this in time, it airs again on Sunday, October 28th at 8pm EST. Thanks goes out to my friend Kristi for letting me know it was on! ;)

10/14/01 - Sorry for the continuing lack of updates, I'm still working on a few semi-big things for the future, but I cannot say when I will have the time to finish any of them (hopefully soon) In the mean time I thought I might throw up a little snippit of a song by the blackmetal band Marduck. It's called Nightwing and features a certain movie's theme song (~54 seconds and 228KB).

07/17/01 - Quick update, I just found out that the first Subspecies was released on DVD in the UK (Region 2) this week. I want to know where my (Region 1, NTSC) copy is!

06/28/01 - Well, looks like Full Moon is back up in a limited fashion. Bad news is if you read the bottom it sounds to me like we have to wait a few years for the Subspecies DVD set. Remember to start using http://www.radusbloodbath.com/ to access this site, the page will be moving in a couple of days.

06/05/01 - Jonathon Morris has a new official website. It contains an interesting look at the character descriptions from Vampire Journals.

05/31/01 - I was sent this yahoo page about Full Moon's financial status. I'm far from an expert on this type of thing, so draw your own conclusions (and then pray for the Subs ;) Thanks Jeremy for pointing it out to me.

05/29/01 - Well, Ted Nicolaou is going over to India to film a movie for a couple of months, which I guess means he won't be filming Subspecies 5 anytime soon. And we wait..

04/28/01 - I've heard rumors that nbci may stop hosting free webpages in the near future. Not sure if there is any credibility to these rumors, but just to prepare for the future, you can now access this page through the URL http://www.radusbloodbath.com/ All this will do is bring you right back here, but if I should ever have to move the page for whatever reason, that address will still work so I suggest you update your links and/or bookmarks. The Blood Bath will NOT be taken down (and I may even update it in the near future, you never know :)

In other events, there's a new submission to the fan art section by Kristi Shelley. Go check it out!

03/10/01 - Updated the fan-art section with a creation by Leah Brock, go check it out!

01/28/01 - I was sent a Vampire Journals desktop theme from Mask de Devin, the owner of a now closed dark downloads website. Check it out here: Club Muse

01/18/01 - Full Moon announced that William Shatner (that's right, Mr. Priceline himself) will be hosting a syndicated TV show that features Full Moon movies. There are currently plans for 12 episodes, and while none of the 12 movies have been announced, I suppose there's a good chance atleast one of the Subspecies will make the cut. Now tell me, is this a good thing?

01/12/01 - Just noticed at Full Moon Toys: 12" Radu is scheduled for release in August. And I suppose it's worth a note that Full Moon Pictures is now known as Full Moon Universe (http://www.fullmoonuniverse.com/) They are also now a public company if anyone cares.

12/19/00 - Latest from Ted Nicolaou (not the best news), Anders Hove is committed to a play back in his home town until May, so looks like that is the earliest Sub5 can begin filming. To add to the news, around that time Jonathon Morris is scheduled to do stage work in England, so either Sub5 won't start filming until August, or Ash will be written out. Well, atleast we can end the year with 5 great movies (only 2 of which are on DVD..come Full Moon..hurry up ;) Happy Holiday!

11/19/00 - Adding a new Subspecies link: Blood of Saints It is a very well written page with an interesting look into the Blade of Laertes.

Also, want to appologize for the lack of updates. I know I said this month will be the big one, but I wasn't expecting to be so busy. It's coming though, I promise. And like always, any actual news will be posted as soon as I hear about it.

10/30/00 - OK, since I've gotten a few emails about this, figure I should mention something. There is a Subspecies movie on this month, I forget which channel, but it's being listed as Subspecies: The Awakening. This is not a surprise release of the new movie or anything, it is actually Bloodstorm, just listed under a different name. Why the different name? I don't know for sure, but it seems to be the name the European stores list it as. Maybe Europe didn't get the entire series, so they didn't want to name it Subspecies 4? My only guess. Still confused as to why an American channel is using a foreign name. Oh well, just wanted to clear up any confusion that might arise. (PS, I am working on a few actual updates to the site, hoping to have the time to finish atleast one of them by the end of November) Happy Halloween everybody!

9/17/00 - According to Denice Duff, filming of the prequel starts in March of 2001 :(

9/15/00 - I wouldn't take this as concrete information, but according to DVD Angle's Nightmare Subspecies 5 is set to be released in October 2001, with the DVD box set following soon after.

9/11/00 - What the..nbci.com? When did this happen? Thank you very much Xoom for letting me know. NBCi? Who in the world watches NBC anyway? ;) Well, they better not mess anything up..watch this space, any major changes I don't like and I'm looking for a new home (but I REALLY don't want to do that, so hope for the best).

8/1/00 - A few bits of information from Ted Nicolaou: Subspecies 5 is indeed going to be filmed in November (as of right now anyway), Laura Tate will not be in it due to conflicts in schedules. The DVD set is most likely going to be released around the time of the new movie (D'oh!!). Though nothing is definite right now, Ted is hoping to have the time to include commentaries, production notes, and more in depth behind the scenes for the DVDs (Whahoo!!).

7/30/00 - Finally completed my Radu collection with the bloody mouth Radu doll! So the action figure section of "Misc" is now complete. Note to Full Moon, you can now release more Subspecies/Vampire Journals figures ;) Also, stumbled across a cool David Gunn page, check out the The Unofficial David Gunn Website.

5/24/00 - According to Denice Duff, Subspecies 5 starts filming on November 1st, for sure! Charles Band said so. Also, someone has sent me a link to Laura Tate's modelling page Not really much there, but it atleast answers the question as to what she's been up to. (In case you're wondering, I'm not sure if she's actually going to be in Sub5 or not, I'll try to find out though since she is on the mind)

7/17/00 - Well, break out the old Subspecies movies, because looks like that's all we'll be able to watch for who knows how long. Filming for the prequel to the Series has now been delayed until the end of the year. D'oh!

5/26/00 - Good news: supposedly there will be a Subspecies DVD set out by the end of the year (according to DVD Nightmare anyway). Bad news: if the Puppet Master set is any indication, it won't be the fully featured DVDs that we were teased about last year.

5/9/00 - Not really any news, but the other day while I was in the hell they call Jury Duty, I finally thought up the missing element that connects Subspecies and Vampire Journals. I now think I have a pretty solid (though some call me crazy for it) umm..bridge if you will. I still have lots of work before I unveil it (and very little time in the near future), but that is a little peak into what you can expect in the coming weeks.

4/23/00 - First, I want to appologize for the extreme lack of updates. I do have a few things going on in my head which I'll try to finish soon, but I have been extremely busy. Just to assure you, this page is far from dead, and even if I don't have time for an update, I'll always post any new info as soon as I hear it. Now, just thought I'd mention that B-Movie Theater has posted a small interview with Denice Duff. It's not much, but like always, a great read. Thanks to Shaithis for bringing it to my attention.

1/28/00 - Production of the Subspecies prequel has been delayed once again. It seems that there is a major film about Vlad the Impaler ready to be made in Romania, so Ted Nicolaou has decided to hold off production on the prequel until late May, at which time he'll be able to use the sets and costumes of the Vlad movie for next to nothing, resulting in a better movie in the end.

Also, go to My Journey to read about another Subspecies fan's day at the Fangoria convention (she has some really nice pictures up too..definitely worth checking out).

1/21/00 - go here for pictures from the convention that Lori from the Anders Hove page took.

1/16/00 - OK, here's the summary of my day at the convention (warning, I was in the mood to type ;)

1/15/00 - Just thought I'd mention I just got back from meeting the vampiric duo, I'll write a little about it sometime later today (tomorrow the latest)

1/11/00 - Ted Nicolaou has revealed that he is interested in going forward with the series after the prequel is finished with Michelle heading back to the Untited States with the Bloodstone. He says he's already planned out how Radu will return after what happened to him in Subspecies 4. Not my first choice on where to go next, but Ted knows what he's doing, and I'm sure it'll be great in the end.

12/29/99 - (Click for Full Moon Toy's website..they've changed alot if you haven't been there in a while, but don't forget to come back to the Bath after you're done browsing ;)

12/14/99 - Here's a pretty cool Windows theme. It's originally from Artanas' Demented Desktop Themes, check it out if you can (it was down when I tried to go). Thanks to Hovelover for bringing it to my attention and sending it to me.

12/11/99 - Les Assoiffés has an interview with Denice Duff. Go check it out (most of the page is in French, but the interview is in English..luckily for me ;) Go check it out, it's worth the read.

11/19/99 - For those that were wondering, Stefan will be in the new movie, but it's a very young Stefan, so it will NOT be Michael Watson. Also, Laura Tate (Michelle #1) may come back to the Subspecies world, in a role relating to Radu's past. Some news on the Subspecies DVD: At the moment, it looks like Subspecies 1 may be postponed until the other movies are ready, and then a box set of them all will be released.

11/16/99 - Updated the Subspecies 5 section with information from Denice. Also noticed that Amazon.com lists the upcoming Subspecies DVD (current release date of November 30th..don't hold your breath though) as having a Subspecies 5 teaser.

10/31/99 - Let's see..umm..ok..first, you can go here to read about my day at the Chiller Theatre, which concluded with meeting Denice Duff! Also, put up a page about the Bloodstone (which is also in the misc section). Fixed up the link page (updated moved pages, deleted pages that proved to be pretty useless these days, maybe even added a page or two..I forget really). Also, updated the Subspecies 5 page, no new info, but figured I'd add the stuff I've mentioned on the front page since it may get lost in the update graveyard. And..I think that's everything. Oh..Happy Halloween!

10/21/99 - It appears that Subspecies 5 filming has been postponed until February of next year due to prior commitments. Also, the Subspecies 1 DVD is on temporary hold at the moment. So I guess we just have to keep wearing out our VHS tapes and playing with our Radu dolls until we are finally blessed with all that is new in the Subspecies world.

10/19/99 - I'm told the upcoming DVD for the first Subspecies will be in 16x9 enhanced widescreen. This is the first time a Subspecies movie will be available in widescreen form. It is also said that the DVD will include around 50 trailers of various Full Moon movies. There also should be filmographies of the actors.

10/16/99 - Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday Radu's Blood Bath, happy birthday to you ;)

10/15/99 - Tomorrow (Saturday, October 16th) there will be a chat with Charles Band at Talk City. This is the first of a series of four chats he'll be attending, go to Full Moon's page for details.

10/15/99 - "Official word" on the Subspecies DVD is that it is currently scheduled to be released late November, but we should keep in mind that there could be last minute problems, so no DVD release date is ever definite.

10/9/99 - Go to the Fan Art section to see K. Vladislas'ss latest work.

10/7/99 - Since it may interest some of you, I figured I'd quickly mention that I opened a new site today about vampire DVDs. If you'd like to check it out, you can do so here. Let me know what you think..

10/6/99 - added two of the variants in the Action Figure page of the MISC section.

10/4/99 - we got a new drawing in the Fan-art section by a "K. Vladislas", catchy name..huh? ;)

9/22/99 - Put up a small, little, itty-bitty, special tribute thingy for the other Michelle -> Laura Tate. Also went around and corrected poor Denice Duff's name which I realized I had spelt wrong on numerous pages. And finally, been told that the current release date for the Subspecies DVD may not hold, but whenever the disc does come out, it will feature commentary by Ted Nicolaou and Anders Hove.

9/18/99 - According to Gorezone, the original Subspecies comes out on DVD October 19th. According to Amazon it comes out November 9th. Either way..YES!!

8/27/99 - Updated the Family Tree (Misc section) slightly to show a relationship between Stefan and Michelle.

8/19/99 - I picked up the DVD of Vampire Journals, so like I did for Subspecies 4, I added a little review of it. (it's in the Vampire Journal's section)

8/17/99 - According to Denice Duff in her latest online newsletter, "Sub 5 is a go for November as I heard today.", Whahoo!!

8/8/99 - Nothing to do with anything on this page, but click here to see what was the highlight of my summer.

8/3/99 - It appears that there may be a DVD of the original Subspecies due out by the end of the year to commemorate Full Moon's 10th anniversary. It is being prepared by Tempe Entertainment, is said to be in wide screen (16x9) format, and include commentary tracks along with "a host of goodies". Take this for what you will, I first heard of this at The DVD Resource Page and got the details from an email to Tempe Entertainment.
