Audience statement

For the English speaking person who is interested in photography and developing basic black and white photographs, it is aimed at age ranges from the teens to adulthood. It will be a simple easy to understand manual. It is essentially designed for people with little knowledge of the basic photographic processes. The simple English and illustrated examples, instructions and diagrams will make it available to a wide age group.

This is a product that will appeal to the armature photographer, appeal to the hobby and interest group types. It is not intended for professional use.


Objectives

· To be a basic overview of the photographic process and production
· Give enough information for the budding new photographer to start their hobby
· Be a correct information source and provide suggested experiment.
· Be a quick desktop reference guide for the photographic basics
· Be easy to use
· Be presented in simple English for the user to understand
· Give the user an idea of what their camera does, and how to go about approaching basic and simple techniques to improve their photographs and to instigate experimentation with the camera

Budget and schedule

For a project of this proportion a reasonable production team will need to be organised. Developers, graphic designers and researchers and marketing team
A fairly large time frame also will need to be allowed for all the research and design factors, not only with the large amount of information and topic areas but the design of the user facilities and physical pressing of the CD's and distribution. Constraints that will exist will essentially be copyright.

Environment it will be designed for

It will be designed cross platform for a computer of satisfactory performance.
That is a computer with at least a
· Pentium II processor preferably a 333 mhz processor speed or equivalent for a Macintosh (for video and audio to run efficiently)
· 32 - 64 meg ram (for optimum display and functionality)
· Must contain an audio output device (speakers)
· Graphic display device (video card)
· 40 speed cdrom drive (for optimum read efficiency)
