Tag Line : 10 years ago he changed the face of Halloween. Now, he's back!

Just when you thought it was safe to go trick-or-treating again, along comes Halloween 4.  Released to coincide with the original films 10th anniversary, producer Moustapha Akkad decided to jump on the same bandwagon as the "Friday the 13th" and "Nightmare on Elm Street" franchises (that were pumping out seemingly endless sequels) by releasing another Halloween movie, this time with a plot that goes back to the original film.

But wait a moment, didn't Michael Myers and Doctor Loomis both horribly burn to death at the end of part 2? Well not quite it seems. Burn they did, but die they didn't. Having spent the last 10 years in a comatose state inside a maximum security institution, Myers escapes during a routine transfer and heads back over to Haddonfield.

Doctor Loomis (Donald Pleasance reprising his earlier role), upon hearing what has happened, travels back to Haddonfield to try and stop Myers once again. This time though, Myers target isn't Laurie Strode. It turns out that since part 2 Laurie has married, had a child, then got killed in a car crash (ironic isn't it?).

Michael therefore spends the film chasing Laurie's young daughter Jamie Lloyd around the town (Danielle Harris), whilst the local rednecks go around causing mayhem as they tear up the place looking for him and the Sheriffs office attempt to track him down and stop the rednecks at the same time.

All in all this is a very good film, this is what they should have done with part 3 rather than make a spin off movie and it was certainly good to see Donald Pleasance reprising his role as Doctor Sam Loomis again.

Overall Marks 8/10.

Other Information.

• The part of Michael Myers was played this time by stuntman George Wilbur. He has also worked on Re-Animator, Die Hard, Last Boy Scout, Silence of the Lambs, Mars Attacks and Casino.

• In the original script Jamie Lloyd's name was going to be Britty, but they renamed the character after Jamie Lee Curtis.

• Danielle Harris also played Bruce Willis's daughter in the action film "The last Boy Scout".

• The films budget was $5 million.

• The music was once again composed by Alan Howarth who also scored parts 2 & 3.

• Kathleen Kinmont, who plays the Sheriff's daughter Kelly, also starred played 'The Bride' in  "Re-Animator 2".

• The German release was cut to get a 16 rating. As there were only 2 scenes with any blood in them I'm surprised they found anything to actually cut.

• An opening scene showing Loomis (Donald Pleasence) being rescued after the ending of Halloween II was shot but never finished. In the scene, Loomis tried to stop firemen from extinguishing Michael Myers, shouting "Let him burn!"
