Death by burning abolished in Britian 1790

Crucifiction was abolished by the Roman Emperor Constantine in the 4th century AD. It was still used in France until about 1127.

The Papal church banned the practice of ordeal (ordeal by water, fire, and fighting) in 1215. The ban was slowly enforced throughout Europe in the 13th century. Fighting by Ordeal on the other hand, was even slower to be disbanded, it took until the end of the 14th century.

Branding was abolished in Britian in 1779.

Frederick the Great abolished torture in Russia in 1742.

French torture was abolished, or in other words abandoned, after the revolution in 1792.

In 1772, pressing was abolished in Britain. The last execution of witches tookplace:
