inspiration

* a guy who's honest with me, but knows when not to tell me the whole truth. i should be able to trust him, and he should trust me. trust=good.

* a guy who won't mock my silly obsessions. if he continually disses my monkees cds, my harry potter geekiness, my newsies fanfiction, or my insistance on being home for SNL (or taping it, or being sure to catch it when it reruns), he's got to go. i don't mind a bit of good-natured ribbing, but no cruel, evil trashing. (especially of my love of hobbits. XD)

* a guy who will not only listen, but actively participate in our conversations. he doesn't have to be a great conversationalist. i love shooting the breeze about random shit. ask anyone who's talked to me. i am easily amused. i love a great, stimulating conversation. awkward pauses are eeeevil. but ok, once in a while. conversely, i'd hate if he wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise.

* a guy who doesn't always have to go out. he should enjoy staying in and watching tv as much as going out to a movie or something else. i don't mind going out a lot, but, you know, everything in moderation, right?

* a guy who has his own life. we don't need to spend every waking moment together. i like doing my own thing sometimes. and i like being with "the girls" too. he'll do his thing, i'll do mine.

* a guy who won't make fun of me when i struggle to read a face clock. nuff said. (he'd better read it for me, or buy me a digital watch. ;))

* a guy who reads something other than the comics/sports section. a guy who reads books. novels. preferably a guy who appreciates the utter genious of douglas adams (may he be laughing at this world, wherever he may be). because, the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy? amazing. :D

* a guy who is sensitive in a non-girly way. he should know when to comfort me, and when i need to be alone. he should also know when to ask for help. (of course, heh, i never ask for help until i need it really badly, but i'm oh-so-stubborn.)

* a guy who has a very similar sense of humor to mine. he must enjoy monty python-ness and douglas adams. austin powers, snl, the simpsons, jackass, askewniverse, muppets, would be nice, but not necessary.

* a guy who isn't terribly religious. based solely on the fact that i've been known to butt heads terribly with guys who get all holier-than-thou on me. personally, i'm a bit foggy on my stance concerning religion. i'm agnostic, leaning towards atheist. i really hate being preached to/at.

* a guy who will be physically and mentally able to put up with my issues. heh.

* a guy who doesn't mind my drinking, and who'll be more than happy to drink with me. it's just this "thing" about me. i wouldn't worry about it.

* a guy who can put up with my silliness. i'm a silly girl. i also like being taken seriously at times. but mostly, not.
