Carihien is mostly grasslands and plains. This could be fertile farmland, however after the Aiel War it fell into disarray and most of it now lies fallow.
Cairhienin Society
Cairhienin Society is famous for Daes Dae’mar, the “Great Game of Houses” whose intrigue rules political society. Those born to a noble house spend the majority of their lives playing the Great Game, and automatically interpret any action as to what it may imply. Even the commoners and tradesmen play their own versions of the Game, and travelers to Cairhien can find themselves unknowingly caught up in the intrigue.
