Brings a sense of
wonder and discovery to fine art as he faithfully captures the heart of
the Sequoia high country on canvas. His landscapes are serene and sensitive
to a lost moment in time, recalled, and enhanced by the remembrance of
quieter day

Fred Hewitt paints
masterpieces from his home on the beautiful Central Coast of California,
but draws his inspiration from the Majestic Sequoia forests that surround
California's Kern River Valley where he grew up. His artistic talent
was recognized early in childhood, and as an adult he studied briefly
with the Internationally acclaimed landscape artist Robert Wood, who
helped him add depth and atmosphere to his work.
Hewitt uses traditional materials, oils, and mediums to produce luminescent landscapes, Each painting tells a story, drawing you deep into the beloved forests of his childhood. Although many of these treasured redwood groves and meadows no longer exist, they have been faithfully captured on the canvas of the gifted artist, preserved for future generations |
