Welcome to Sugar Creek Radio Control Flying Club! We are located just outside Crawfordsville, Indiana on Rt. 234. Established for some time now, we have over 40 flying and non-flying members. The Club's President, Dennis Thompson, is an active flyer and has been for several years. We hold our monthly meeting's usually the first Non-Holiday Monday of the month at 7 p.m. The meeting location is Wabash College Maintenance Room Crawfordsville. Feel free to join us whether you fly or just love watching.
Here in Crawfordsville: The club requires you meet three standards before being turned loose. We require the flyer to have a valid AMA License This is mainly for insurance purposes. However, having the AMA membership has its perks. You get a great magazine monthly. Our club dues must be met, which you will find to be a mere $35.00 a year. The last requirement is to perform one takeoff, one landing under power. Then for the final, one successful dead stick. That's it, nothing tuff. SCRC has a few different flight training instructors to choose from, each with their own signature style of flying. However, there is always someone there ready to jump in and help out with your flying questions. SCRC is always looking to sponsor youth groups of all ages, we love doing air shows. If you have a charitable event in mind contact John Bir or club treasure or John Lawyer or club secretary and they will set something up. Now after reading all this, maybe you would like to come to the field and just be a spectator. We love that too. Half the fun of flying, is showing off.
