Rear Guard Action

The party retreat from the sea cave, debating what to do next. Do they stay , search for their taken weapons and find out more about the Lizardmen. Or do the retreat and come back later. Vincents injuries make the descion for them. The party get to the front door, and meet four lizardmen. Vadim tried to bluff his way past them, but fails. Vadim, Thurik and Hador kill three lizardmen, however the fourth runs away, while Donavan escorts Vincent away. Hador goes to block a door to prevent anymore lizardmen chasing them. More lizardmen charge out at the party, while Hador and Thurik hold the Lizardmen off. They then retreat back down to the katamaran, and return to Saltmarsh. The party recieve a heroes return at the small village. The priest of Selune heals Vincents injuries, while the party decides what to do next. Hador gives a speech to the villagers, saying he will defend the village with his life. And the party plan to return to the lizardmens lair tommorow.

Phae and the Giant Lizards

With Thurik ill with swamp fever. The Corporal recruits two passing adventurers to join the party. Phae a sorcerer from Calimshan. And Kessa an elvan ranger from tethyr. After a few introductions, the party head off to the lizardmens lair in Harry Lucks katermaran. The party opt for the more sneaky approach this time. And head off following the path into the marsh. They quickly discover three giant lizards in a muddy cave. Vadim slay one with a single crossbow bolt. Phae sends a second to sleep. Kessa, vincent and Hador hack at the third, but Phae kills it with one bullet from her sling.

Snakes and Arrows

The party enter into the cave. They surprise three lizardmen. Phae sends two too sleep, while Kessa splits ones head open with an arrow. The party push on deeper into the lair. They discover a door behind which lizardmen noises can be heard. After some debate the party charge in, only to discover a room full of female lizardmen, and children. Who all start screaming at the frightening sight of the warlike party. The sight of the lizardmen young and females, puts doubt into the parties mind about what they are doing, and why the lizardmen are arming. The party push further on and find a gate guarded by a lizardman. Hador decides to capture the lizardman rather than kill him. Vadim spots a secret door, opens it, and walks onto a pit trap of snakes. As Vadim attempts to leap out of the pit, the snakes bite him, their poison infecting the acrobat. Hador lowers Vincent into the pit to grab Vadim. Once hauled out Donavan heals Vadim, before the poison kills him. Vadim then goes to investigate the contents of the secret room.
