Dear All,

The reason I am quickly sending out another issue right on the heels of the last issue is to deal with a timely subject.

FEATURE ARTICLE

The feature in this newsletter is another article by G. Richard Fisher called "THE BIBLE CODE: PROPHETIC INSIGHT OR FERTILE IMAGINATION?"

I am sending out this article because of the movie produced and distributed by Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) called "The Omega Code". This movie will soon be in your area. It has already shown up in Hawaii this weekend. This movie has been heavily advertised on TBN, especially by Paul Crouch and his son. They have been billing this as "a great witnessing tool" and have a downloadable "tract" package that is to be used for that purpose available on the TBN web site.

On the tract poster it states in large bold lettering: "Revelation foretold it, Nostradamus predicted it ..." Why is Nostradamus being given equal billing with the Revelation in God's Word? This movie is also endorsed on the poster by regular TBN guest host Hal Lindsey (what happened to this guy?) who states: "The Omega Code has a most important prophetic message. It couldn't come at a better time". With major actors and ringing endorsements like these, why shouldn't all Christians invite their unsaved friends to see this movie and use this "tract" for witnessing?

The problem is that the movie is based on an old scam. Is it proper to witness to people based on a false premise? This "secret Bible Codes" thing has been been popping up for centuries off and on, and has proven to be nothing more than using the Bible as a Ouija board. God has revealed to us everything we need to know in His Word. Some things may be hard to understand but they are not hidden from His children.

De 29:29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children for ever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

When we become Christians we no longer follow the ways of the world, which include secret occult formulas, numerology, divination, sorcery. We no longer distort the Word of God. We do not add to it or take away from it.

2Co 4:2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

I hope this article will help you understand what the Bible Codes issue is all about, if you haven't already looked into this, and prompt you to consider whether you should be promoting this movie in your church or community. Remember, this movie was produced and is being promoted by TBN, the PREMIERE Third Wave outlet, to millions of people each day. That alone should make you consider your options.
