Yesterday they shook your hand boy, now they’re going to stab your back.

—Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, “Drunk Daddy”

Quote: Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.

Prelude: Born in Sicily to an Italian mother and an Irish father. He was raised here for three years and the family moved shortly after the birth of his little sister. The family moved to Brooklyn, New York where Owen’s father was offered a job with a local Irish run crew. However, America wasn’t the land of opportunity and the police force was rigorous and cruel. This taxed on his family life; he became abusive which led to his death. Owen was 12 at the time. His uncle in Sicily arranged a job for him in a local crew so he could support his mother and sister. He worked here until his 18th birthday. He was put up for his stripes and received them in six months. His employer transferred him around the country; he had a reputation for quick thinking and organization. Everyone knew his reputation as an excellent worker, but he always avoided being the man who pulled the trigger… in fact he never did it. It was becoming such an issue for him he was considering leaving the life. To avoid this, they moved him to Boston and worked in loan sharking, Sicily and running a crew, Vegas and gambling. It was here he met his fate. His employer, Don Augustus Giovanni, saw him as a liability—he was rising too fast through the ranks for the top dogs to be safe, and his unwillingness to kill and his ability to get others to do it so readily were a problem. In this life there is only one way to deal with a problem. His body was riddled with close to 60 bullets. This wasn’t enough… with what should have been his last breath he dialled 911. The Las Vegas Ambulance was able to save him—he was in remarkably good shape for someone who had been shot so many times. He was discharged two days later into the care of a man called Salim Aziza: a Euthanatos master who wanted to train Owen into the ways of the Tradition. But he had to destroy his killer before they were able to destroy him again. In his war, he wiped out the family, a hive of vampires. This left the vacancy for him to create his own family. Aziza did not understand the ways of Owen’s other life, so intrusted the rest of his training to the new Don, Mr Portonio.

Concept: The thing that he avoided his whole life is now his duty; it is hard but not as hard as it was when he was mortal. He has achieved a lot for someone his age and is well respected in the community and in the mafia.

Roleplaying Tips: Owen is known for being a very caring and giving man. He has a tendency to be a martyr for his causes. He is a protector, with very sound judgement. He has not fallen into the traps of the Euthanatos and become a mindless killer; for him the decision is far more important than the deed.

Equipment: Two Berettas, grey trench coat and suit, coin and fob watch.
