| The Royal
Combat Woman's Joust |
We return to the jousting
arena in time to hear Howie McClean dictate the proper etiquette of
viewing a joust. He raps a broken stick one inch in diameter against a
steel post. The pole rings loudly. This is what the knights will use to
strike one another. A raised green hill on the north side overlooks the
arena. No benches are provided but at least the viewing area is covered
from the now emerging sun unlike the New Market Village. Four knights
charge their horses onto the list.

But alas, there is but one ladyknight. But she fights well as we soon
discover.

First, there is a test of skill... |

Followed by a battle of swords... |

And finally lances... |
