| The Gardens of New Market Village |
 
A great many gardens are strewn along the northern portion of New
Market Village. Captain Gareth strikes a dashing pose within the Fons Florida Aeterna or the Fountains
of Eternal Flowers. The garden was built in 1998. Venetian
architecture surrounds the 2,200 square foot water garden. Within are
nineteen fountains and statues.

Lady Mary stands within Titania's
Bower. Over 3,000 flowers and plants are within the 4,500 square
foot English Garden built in 1999. Over 35 stone statues are set inside
as well as urns with an additional 600 plants. A bower is a place to
sleep. Titania, the Queen of fairies had this garden constructed to
attract the attention of King Oberon.

Here we are before The War of Roses Rose Garden.
First built in 1997 as the Royal Rose
Garden, this 40 foot x 80 foot garden has over 600 roses.

The roses seem to have a strange effect upon people.

A madness besets Captain
Gareth and he comes to blows with myself. I hold him off till the
madness ebbs. Fatigued, Gareth throws down his gauntlets, and we leave
the festival. What caused the madness? The curse? Perhaps the
roses. We shall never know.
