Below you will find the various rules for Legacy of the Dragon.  These range from character creation and leveling your character, to general rules of conduct for the message boards.
Character Creation

The first step to creating a character for Dragon Ball: Legacy of the Dragon is deciding what type of character you want to create.  Stats are rolled by the GM, so you will need to contact Legacy Keeper for your stats.  Then choose a race (which will modify your stats accordingly), then you can choose a class, skills, and feats.  At first level, characters have 3 feats to choose from, besides bonus feats awarded some races.  First level characters also gain 4 times the number of skill points their class gains every level, and the maximum number of hit points.  Any other questions about character creation can be answered by Legacy Keeper.

Character Progression

Each time a character gains a level, they must spend that level in a class.  They may either gain another level in their original class, or choose a new class to gain a 1st level in.  Multi-classing has several advantages and disadvantages.  Basically a character becomes more diverse in their abilities at the expense of specialization in their original field.  However, if two or more of your class levels are uneven, meaning there is a difference of two or more levels between them, your character will suffer a 20% experience penalty for each class that is not within one level of you highest level class.  Certain races are more adept at certain classes than others, so a character's favored class is not considered towards this penalty.
To gain another level characters gain exp. Every level req. a certain amount of it and once you reach the amount req for the next level you progress to the next charcter level, or may save the exp to spend it on transformations or styles. Here is the list of what exp it takes to be what level.

Many players are either unfamillar or confused with how to update and maintain their characters, especially upon leveling. For this we have compiled a page full of information and formulas needed to play the game and keep up with the rest of the players. Please visit the Game Help page for help. Feel free to print out this information to help you with the various aspects of the game.

Combat Abilities - A character gains a number of skill points and hit points as outlined by their class, and modified by their intelligence and constitution modifiers respectively.  Characters gain a number of energy points equal to their level + Ki modifier.  A character must always gain at least one skill point, one hit point, and one energy point per level.  Base attack bonus, saving throw bonuses, and defense bonuses are all added together according to all the characters classes.  However with the case of defense bonuses, each additional class a character has beyond the first, subtracts 2 from the total defense bonus.

Feats - All characters gain an additional feat of their choosing every level.  This feat is separate from any bonus feats which may be awarded from the character's race or class.
You may now also buy feats with experience points. Feats cost 300 exp multiplied by your level. For example, at level two, purchasing a feat would only cost 600 exp. This can only be done once per a level and can be used on anything but self improvement.

Stats - All characters gain an additional stat point to allocate to the stat of their wish at every even level; ie, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, etc.

Combat and Statistical Rules

Damage Reduction - All characters have damage reduction to a certain degree.  Damage reduction is the ability for a person to shrug off some of the damage they may sustain from certain attacks.  Damage reduction consists of two facets, DR Defense and DR Amount.  DR Amount is the amount of damage that is ignored per attack.  DR Defense is a measure of how strong a defense you have against said attack.  Their are two different types of damage reduction, one that defends against physical attacks, and one that defends against energy attacks.  A persons physical DR Defense is equal to their Constitution modifier, and their DR Amount is equal to their base Fortitude save.  A persons energy DR Defense is equal to their Ki modifier, and their DR Amount is equal to their base Will save.  Certain feats may improve one aspect or another of your damage reduction.  Magic totally ignores all damage reduction, while a character's normal ability to get past another's damage reduction is dependant on class abilities or techniques.

Other Rules

Death - If you die, your dead for good... that is of course unless you are 5th level or higher.  Characters who are 5th level or higher are allowed to keep their bodies in the Other World.  The Other World is like the separate galaxies, it has its own message board, and characters in the Other World cannot see what's going on elsewhere and vice versa.  A character can be resurrected a number of ways, either by another character wishing them back to the prime material plane, or through high level arcane magic.  Even if you never plan on anyone resurrecting you, you can still gain experience, expand your characters abilities, and basically "live" in the next dimension.

Character Names - Make your characters name good.  If your character has what the GM's might consider a "bad name," then you will be forced to make a new one, or not allowed to play the game at all.  Examples of bad names include Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, Captain Ginyu, Godock, or Neogeta.

- To post on the role playing message boards you MUST register your character's name.

- Role playing posts should be kept in the Role Playing boards, and out of character chat should be kept in the OOC forum.  OOC comments should be kept to a minimum on the role playing boards.
