Character Update, Game Formulas and General Help

Legacy runs on a slightly modified version of the very popular D20 game system. This system can be very confusing to the new player but with a little help it is also very simple to use for the player as most of the system is on the GM's behalf to use. However there are a few, small formulas that the players will need to know or use in order to progress and play the game at it's best.

Basic Terms

What are Stat Mods?
Stat mods are points given from your actual stats. Stat mods are one point for every 2 stat points past 10. Also, you may have negative stat mods in going two under 10 in a stat's points.
Ex: If you have 16 stat points, that is a 3 Stat Mod. Should you have 15 points, that will only be a 2 Stat Mod until you reach 16. 10,11=0 - 12,13=1 - 14,15=2 - etc.

What is D(4,6,8,10,12,20)?
If something is described with D and a number right next to that that means it is the type of die that is rolled. The D20 system is based on a series of dice ranging from 4 sided to 100 and sometimes higher. If something is described as D10, that means that the GM must roll a 10-sided die in order to see what will happen. This is normally followed by a series of numbers or something else to be added so that you may get the effect or attempt for the effect that you desire.

What does Learn DC mean?
Learn DC stand for Learn Difficulty. This is normally seen when looking at new techniques, attacks, spells etc that you are trying to learn or have the ability to do so. Learn DC normally comes in the form of a number, usually a rounded number of some kind such as 15, 20, 25 etc. That means that you must get that many points through the method the game uses to check your learn dc. For this game's Learn DC formula, please scroll down the page.
Character Updating Rules and Formulas

As your character goes through his life in DB Legacy, he will grow with his daily feats. This will be noted once you have been awarded more Experience Points, which will be posted on your character's board. From there you may be able to level refer to the chart on the RULES page). This chart will show you just how to update your character each time you may level up.

HP: As Listed on the Classes Page (Called Hit Die) This is Added to your current HP. Make note of any feat such as Toughness that may add to your HP per round.

Skill Points: As Listed on the Classes Page. This does not add to your previous Skill Points. If not spent, they will not collect and are lost.

(The Following are not added to your current scores but are in fact the NEW scores for that particular area.)

Armor Class: AC Bonus (classes page) + Dex Mod + Ki Mod + Unarmed Bonus (classes page when applicable) + Feat Bonuses (any feat you may have that applies) + 10

*Ex: ( If Ki were 16: 1(from level 1) + 3 (from Ki Mod) + 2 (from energy adept feat))
*This is done for each level you have achieved but uses current Ki Mod for all.

Feats: One Feat is Gained Every Level (an extra feat may be aquired upon reaching certian levels for some races, check race page for details)

Stat Points: You are given one stat point to add to any category on each even level. You may also use a feat to buy Self Improvement feat for any one stat to add two. Please refer to the feats page for this.

(Power level is a bit tougher of a Formula and is not needed for the game but is more for a judgement of total power.)

Power Level:
(Str + Base Attack Bonus + HP + Power Points + Armor Class)=X
X[(Str Mod + Ki Mod)]+1 /2] x Level = PL

Misc Game Formulas
