Provinces of Mordekai

Alesari, The Shifting Sands
Alesari is the great desert province, beyond mountains of Monturia and Frineko, which border to the north and east respectfully. Life in Alesari is greatly influenced by the presence, or lack thereof, of water. Near the great River Siarra, many villages flurish. Beyond, into the heart of the desert, towns sprought up with the oasii and disappear again just as quickly. When more permenant settlements are actually built, they are often made of adobe and constructed so that when it does rain, the water runs off into cisterns to drink.
Clothing in Alesari tends to be light and comfortable, designed to keep the hot desert sun off one's skin. Men often wear turbans to sheild their heads and scarves to protect their necks and faces, while women wear veils or scarves. Many people are active at night and asleep during the day to avoid the midday heat. Many of these people forgo the scarves, veils, and turbans, except when a sandstorm blows.
