Daniel Southern made his motion picture debut in Michael Crichton-John McTiernan's The
13th Warrior as Edgtho the Silent: scout, tracker, and swordsman of a Viking band led
by Buliwyf (Vladimir Kulich). As Edgtho, he was not only the eyes, ears and nose of these
warriors, but this quiet and intelligent man was also third in command. Southern was also
in the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
Mischa Hausserman (who played Rethel the Archer) also appears with him as Crown's driver.
