JESUS BORN IN KILLAY……..CLAIM
REPORT
SPECIAL
So says Local Community Counsellor
Christine Jenkins. She claims that the bible got it wrong and that Jesus was
not born in a stable but in a lock up garage on the outskirts of Dunvant.
“ The bible will have to be re-written “
said Mrs Jenkins who’s case hinges on an old newspaper cutting she discovered
which reported the birth in detail. “ It also spoke of a bright light which
appeared above Swansea Airport on the night in question, said Mrs Jenkins
affectionately known as Madam Ming to her friends. Unfortunately she has since
lost the newspaper cutting and believes it may have inadvertently been used in
the absence of toilet paper. “ Joseph and Mary were probably travelling to
Bishopston which sounds a bit like Bethlehem hence the mix up said Mrs Jenkins.
“ Unfortunately, in them days there was lack of tourist accommodation and Inns
in West Glamorgan and consequently they were forced to spend the night in a
damp, cold garage. The rest, as they say, is history.”
Nowdays things have improved and Mrs
Jenkins claims that Joseph and Mary would have received first class service and
a warm welcome at the Village Inn in
Killay and that also goes for the many thousands of tourists and pilgrims she
expects to visit Killay in the light of these revelations.
Mrs Jenkins is already in talks with the
City Council about funding for a monument to be erected in Killay shopping
precinct to commemorate the occasion. In the meantime Killay Community Council
are pressing ahead with plans to produce a full colour brochure entitled “
Killay – Birthplace of Christ “ which will be available for £27.50 at libraries
Post offices and all public swimming baths
in Swansea.
