Madam Ming's pledge to be nice to her customers failed on Sunday 17th March When she gave her beloved Ken a right good dressing down for offering a pint of Cream flow to one of the Village Inn's best customers, and Treasurer of VICE, Alan (Blackhands) Bryant. The bar had closed and she did not want any more mess at 1.30 in the morning.
The hope of completing the 40 days pledge, further slipped from her grasp in the pm of the same day when she referred to one of the members as "a pathetic little man"
While the committee would agree that she was in fact, fully justified on both occasions, it was, none-the-less, a violation of the solemn oath that had been made.
The winner of the sweep stake was C Ashton, who magnanimously donated his £10.00 winnings to the VICE charity fund.
