Our First meeting

Minutes of V.I.C.E. Sat 27th Oct 2001

Late attendance

Social Sec

Women's L O

Treasurer

Raving Ambassador

No apologies were made by any of the above, but the S S and the WLO made a feeble excuse that they did not know there was a meeting

Meeting opened by Chairman

The minutes of the last meeting were taken as read and it was agreed they were a true record. Proposed by R Cole seconded by Blackhands, Motion was carried unanimously.

Proposal by MLO -That any member of the committee may resign at any time. There was no seconder so the motion failed miserably.

Proposed by the Chairman - that the member without brain should become ex officio member instead. The motion was carried as the chairman was unanimous

At this stage all committee members were asked to show their cards it was disappointing to see that all were in compliance so we couldn’t raise any funds by way of a fine.

A draft ordinary membership card was produced for approval and this was accepted.

A proposal was made that committee membership should be set at £1.00 per year and this was agreed. Ex officio member then proposed it should be £1.00 per week it was agreed that he should pay this but the others will stick to £1.00 per year.

Proposed that ordinary membership should be set at £1.00 per ear and this was agreed and enthusiastically taken up by two new members who paid £2.00 each as they both had 2 ears.

Financial contributions from management

It was agreed with the management that the bottle on the bar that collects loose change shall become the V.I.C.E. contributions bottle. MM then announced that they will put on a free buffet for members of vice before Xmas.

Xmas Do

The date was left to be decided and this was left to the Chairman and Secretary to arrange with the management.

A new member ( George ) became rather vocal at this time as he is going away just before Xmas and was nearly reduced to tears at the thought of missing the Xmas Do. We all tried to console him but to no avail, so he was told to shut up or get his head kicked in, which had the desired effect of keeping him quiet.

Report from the Raving Ambassador

He informed us that he has established relations with the Peoples Republic of Sketty Park, but we were concerned that we do not really want to have anything to do with them unless there was something in it for us. He said he would find out.

Treasurers Report

£3.00 in the kitty, then the Sec paid his fines bringing the total up to the princely sum of £5.00. So along with the £4.00 from new members it rose to £9.00

Proposal for Bi-lingual minutes

Some idiot suggested that the minutes be bi-lingual this was put before a select committee made up of the Treasurer (English) the Member Without Portfolio (English) the Social Sec (English) and the Raving Ambassador (Kiwi, but not the slightest bit fruity) . They threw out the motion in no uncertain terms. But they did agree that if anyone wanted to be bi-the bar that would be fine.

Complaint from Management

A complaint was received from MM that some members of the committee had made aspersions as to her activities on Halloween Night. She wished to make it absolutely clear that she does not fly over Killay on this, or any other night. Any rumors to this effect should be ignored otherwise she will turn the next person, who propagates this gossip, into an ugly toad.

Resignation of MLO

At this point the MLO tendered his resignation which was unanimously rejected by the Chairman.

Bar Person of the Month

A number of names were put forward and this was reduced to a short list of

Chris the barman

Christine AKA, (Madam Ming)

Catherine

The main thing going for MM was the fact that during the month of Oct she had been away on holiday for 3 weeks and this was conducive to making the Pub a better place for all.

After a vote it was decided that Chris the barman would receive the award.

Meeting concluded at ( You may insert any time here so that you can have a good excuse for getting home late)
