This Charm momentarily befuddles a victim who has noticed he has been robbed, making it less likely he will notice who actually stole his valuables until it is too late. If the target fails a Willpower check, he immediately lays the blame for the theft on a randomly determined person nearby, which will include the mage unless the victim cannot perceive her. The effect lasts until the bystander shows that she does not have the stolen object, unless the target botches the Willpower check, in which case he begins searching for the "accomplice." This Charm may be purchased more than once, with each additional application increasing the difficulty of the Willpower check by 1, but the difficulty of the Willpower check cannot exceed the mage's Arete or Larceny, whichever is lower.
Forget the Stolen

This Charm causes the victim to forget ever having owned an item stolen by the mage. The victim makes a Willpower check against a base difficulty of (victim's Resource rating - Resource value of stolen goods). For items the victim seldom even notices increase this difficulty by 1, while for items the target uses regularly (the dining room table, a cloak) decrease the difficulty by 1, and for items the victim genuinely cherishes decrease the difficulty by 3. This Charm may be purchased more than once, to a maximum number of times equal to the mage's Arete or Larceny, whichever is lower, with each additional application increasing the difficulty of the victim's Willpower roll by 1. If someone points out the victim's loss, the target receives a new Willpower check at a cumulative -1 difficulty for every person who points out the item's absence. If the victim botches any Willpower check to remember the stolen, he forever loses all memory of ever having owned the item.

This Charm may be purchased more than once, with each application increasing the maximum Willpower of the underling the mage may scrutinize by 1, to a maximum Willpower of 2 + the mage's Arete or Larceny, whichever is lower. The underling must actually be in the service of the mage, whether a servant, slave, employee, or sworn vassal, for this Charm to work. It is only able to recognize tangible cheating, not more abstract forms of dishonesty, such as treason or spying.
Traitor-Sniffing Method

This Charm may be purchased more than once, up to a number of times equal to the mage's Arete or Larceny, whichever is lower, and each application of this Charm is cumulative with the others, but not with itself. Thus, two applications of this Charm (each purchased as separate Charms) would grant two free successes on a casing attempt after two full days of observing the target, but a mage with only one application of Stake-Out could only use this Charm once on any given stake-out.
