Revised Freshmen Pledging Rules
Traditionally, the rules for Greek organizations in regards to freshman pledges were that every freshman pledge must have a 2.5 GPA or higher, also that the maximum number of freshman pledges one organization could have was six.
Upon review, we have found that the current freshman policy was unfairly restrictive. In an effort to support the academic aspect of Greek Life, and allow more freedom and flexibility in pledging, the rule has been adjusted as follows:
Every Greek organization is still allowed to have six freshman who attained a 2.5 GPA or higher their first semester. HOWEVER, any freshman receiving a bid who has a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher does not count toward the “six-freshman rule”. The number of freshman with a 3.0 GPA or higher an organization is allowed to have is UNLIMITED.
Rowan University understands how difficult it is to have limits and restrictions placed upon your membership programs. We feel that this adjustment should significantly improve your organizations membership options as well as your organizations overall GPA!
