Life With Ernie

It's a fabulous life you lead

if you're part of Ernie Kovacs' family --

especially since he stumbled on the secret

of getting more out of life

"The time has come to live a little!" declared Mrs. Kovacs' cigar-smoking spouse Ernie last year. At that time he'd had eight years of TV stardom, slaving at the job eighteen hours every day. "I love TV," Ernie proclaimed loyally, "but I love my wife and children and life more." That's the story of why Ernie "retired." The how is quite another story! In the leisurely year that followed Ernie wrote a novel, Zoomar, in thirteen days; starred in three movies for Columbia: Operation Mad Ball, Bell, Book and Candle (with Kim Novak), and It Happened to Jane (with Doris Day); did stints as guest panelist on What's My Line, teamed with his gorgeous missus, Edie Adams, in club dates at such fancy spots as Las Vegas' Tropicana Hotel (which is what they were doing when these pics were shot), and squeezed in a wonderful family life with Edie and his daughters, Kippy, eight, and Betty, ten. Seems Ernie's "new" life is still frantic and fabulous!
