actions - add
what do you want to add - a whole word or a single character or digit?
whatever you will type in the "text to add" text box 
will go into the filename.
where im the filename do you want to add it? that's why there are buttons under the text box. the four buttons on the left
will let you put the text / characters into the filename in predetermined positions.

to put the added text at the begining of the filename,
before the current text.

to put the added text at the end of the filename, right
before the last dot.
- press
to put the added text at the begining of the
extension, right after the last dot.
- press
to put the added text at the very end of the filename, after the
extension. actually, that extends the extension with the added text.
note that by default, the button that's pressed is begining of filename.
what if you want to add the text in a certain spot in the filename? (sometimes reffered to as "insert")
you press the "fixed position" button 
and set
the position of the first character to be inserted. all the characters after it will be "pushed" as the new text goes in.
