2004 Fall XC Results

Spring Track Schedule

“FLASH”BACK

2001 Track Season:  Club is founded in April with nine kids at first practice and five children at first “Invitational” meet.  Moved from hand-me-down Union Carbine shirts to donated jerseys.  By season's end, team had 35 members; a 2-7 record; sweep of O’Grady Relays middle school race; eight athletes qualified for Hershey State Championships; and we won several individual and relay titles at Connecticut Junior Olympic (JO) Finals.

2001 Cross Country:  Individual victory at first meet (Wilton Invitational); 25 team members; posted winning records on boys and girls teams; ended with a strong showing at State Middle School Championships & JO Finals.

2002 Track Season:  Began a volunteer program with local Special Olympians; designed signs to assist in maintaining the HS track; moved up to to purple team uniforms and stopwatch/printer.  Over 60 athletes; hosted middle school relay event -- the first of its kind ever in the state;  completed an undefeated season; qualified 22 athletes for Regional Jr. Olympics, including first regional champs. 

2002 Cross Country:  30 distance runners; undefeated girls team; won the Wilton Invitational; four medalists at Wickham Meet; and an outstanding 5th-place trophy at State Championship Meet -- including individual finishes of 2nd, 3rd & 13th place. 

2003 Track:  7-1 record; reset many team records; Regional Junior Olympic title for boys relay; and five girls competing in the National Youth Championships; introduced purple team tent; “Gym Bag” fund-raiser.    

2003 Cross Country:  Record 40 XC members; boys won Wilton Event; first-ever boys individual winner; girls team goes 15-1-1; top seven finishers at Brewster Invitational; fourth medalist at State Middle School Championships; purple “Flash” caps.

2004 Track:  Over 80 members; 7-2 record; reset most team records, including nearly all relays; participated in Garden State Classic in Roselle, NJ; boys- third place at Woodbury Invitational… girls- second place; won boys & girls race at O’Grady Relays; hosted local Hershey Meet, and had state runner-up in Hershey Finals.

2004 Cross Country:  Won two Wilton Invitational divisions; girls won Bear Classic (Brewster); participated in NY Novas Relays in the Bronx ; State medalist for fourth-straight season; added “long” shorts for boys.  

2004 Track: Over 80 members; 7-2 record; reset most team records, including nearly all relays; participated in Garden State Classic in Roselle, NJ; boys- third place at Woodbury Invitational; girls- second place; won boys & girls race at O'Grady Relays; hosted local Hershey Meet, and had state runner-up in Hershey Finals.

2005 Track: 10-1 record; kept O'Grady win streak alive; boys took 3rd-place at Woodbury Meet; won Future Stars 4x800; record 11 national Jr. Olympic finalists.
