Overview:
Another Brown-out? |
Quarterback
Jeff
Garcia and tight end
Kellen
Winslow II were brought in to do what the Browns clearly
couldn't do enough of last year -- score points. The Browns
scored 20 or more points on just seven occasions last year with
the offense producing just 15.9 ppg (29th in the league). Some
of the woes could be blamed on a running game that saw its
leading rusher,
William
Green, miss time and not put up numbers (559 yards on 142
carries) comparable to his rookie campaign in 2002 (887 yards on
243 carries). However,
the main
problem occurred at quarterback where neither
Tim Couch
nor Kelly
Holcomb provided any consistency. In comes Garcia, who
despite missing three games because of injuries last season,
still threw more |
