Mercenary Vic Gagne and his team get double crossed while on a job The character of Vic Gagne (Gagne being the third person present form of the French verb to win) comes from an abandoned concept for a Star Wars Fanfilm known as "Effects Project II." The film has its roots in the production of Every Man Has His Price, which was when bluescreen weary Dastoli Digital decided that they wanted to do an action film using real sets. More aspects of this action film were thought of throughout production of The Black Iris. After the completion of The Black Iris, the untitled Vic Gagne action film could not be started until after Dastoli Digital's new camera, the GL-1, arrived. Production began after Just Another Day at the Office in May 2002. The film was being shot at the same time as Mr. Downtown, but in July 2002, focus had shifted entirely to Mr. Downtown. After the completion of Mr. Downtown, most of the actors were unavailable for Under the Gun, so Dastoli Digital pursued Aux Armes Citoyens. Production for the still untitled action film picked back up in September 2002, but was put on hold again while Nice Night for a Murder was completed. Under the Gun, which won out for the title over others such as Cross-Fire, Evasive Maneuvers and Into the Fire, resumed production in November 2002. At this time a lot of the film was reworked. The film was completed in January 2003. |
