Sixty One caps, three World Cups and nine lives of Mike Catt

1994 First capped as a replacement for Rob Andrew in the 15-8 win over Wales at Twickenham.

1995 Trampled by Jonah Lomu while playing at full-back in the World Cup semi-final in South Africa.

1997 Omitted from Lions tour to South Africa but scores 21 points against Argentina and is summoned as a Lions replacement. Plays in third Test.

1998 Starts only three Tests for England in the calendar year but ends 1998, right, as fly-half in the 13-7 win over South Africa.

1999 Picked at fly-half during the Six Nations but starts only one match, against Tonga, in the World Cup later the same year.

2000 Re-establishes himself at inside-centre for England.

2001 Tours Australia with Lions but calf strain ends his tour prematurely. Plays at inside-centre in the major autumn internationals.

2002 Injury rules him out of Test consideration all year

2003 Recurring hamstring trouble threatens his career but regains fitness in time to make 30-man squad as third fly-half. Impresses against Uruguay, on first Test start for two years, and as a replacement against Wales; picked to start semi-final against France.

Mike Catt is the only England player to have worn every jersey number from 10-15 in his Test career.
